This is one of those projects that has been done for an entire year.. yes, a year, with out me blogging it. Sometimes I’m really bad at sharing projects that I do, but I get to blogging it eventually & that’s all that matters right? Well the backstory on this buffet is pretty simple. I wanted an interesting dresser for our master bedroom makeover last year & I came across this buffet at a local antique store for a great price. It needed some work,but my plan was to leave it natural despite all of it’s flaws for that makeover. Mr. LMB uses this buffet as his dresser & it also acts as our media stand. The buffet is a pretty perfect piece. In our last master bedroom makeover we left it natural & I really liked it…
To see more of our last master bedroom makeover before we started to neutralize for the move you can go {here}. The photo of the buffet doesn’t show the flaws on the buffet, but there were lots. Chipping wood, water marks, discoloration, & more. When we started our master bedroom make-under it was time for a fresh coat of paint for the piece. I used my DIY chalk paint recipe with Behr frost which covered the piece & all it’s flaws so well…
After I painted the buffet with my Homemade chalk paint, I used a sanding block to sand the edges & crevices to give it a warn & vintage look. To seal the piece I used annie sloan’s wax & voila I had a brand new piece of furniture!
I love the new look of the piece & it really helped to brighten up the room & give the space a whole new look. I will be back later on how we use this piece as a dresser and media stand.
