Hi friends! So, recently I placed an Ikea order, because sadly the closet store to me is 4 hours away. Insert crying here. With my order I purchases some new chairs for the dining room that you can see {here} & the cutest little wooden step stool you ever did see. It’s the  Bekvam step stool & it’s only $14.99 at Ikea. There are so many possibilities with this little guy. I painted my little stool, so I wanted to show you how it turned out.

The first step with this stool was of course putting it together. As many of you know Ikea furniture comes ready to assemble. The stool was very simple to assemble & I was so impressed with the quality of this little stool! For the price, the wood is so heavy duty & sturdy. After assembling the stool I stained the stool using Minwax stain in dar walnut so that when I sanded it to distess it, dark wood would would show through.

After the stain dried, I then painted the stool with Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint that I received from my lovely painter friend Allison from Refunk My Junk. It was my first time using the paint & loving it! I will do a full review and demonstration later for you. If you have any questions about the paint or how I like it, leave your questions below! Anyways, the color I used was grain sack which is a lovely light gray. After a few layers of milk paint I used a sanding block to heavily distress the piece. I love how old this piece looks now.
