If you are anything like me I’m sure you are missing the days when we could go out & go antiquing. Once this is all over that’s one of the first things I’ll be doing (after seeing our family of course. Oh, & stopping in at Target). So as much as we would love to go visit antique shops in person, I wanted to share a few ways you could shop for antiques from your own home! Since we can’t shop for antiques in person… let’s go antiquing together from our cozy homes..
This is a newer online vintage marketplace with lots of little shops on one website that you can treasure hunt on. The prices are great, I love how curated it is, & I have found some amazing pieces via this online antique marketplace & have been super happy with the shipping times, service, & more. Highly recommend!
There are some serious great finds on 1st Dibs… I mean some serious one of a kind antiques. I check 1st Dibs frequently, but know you’ll rarely get a steal or something underpriced, people generally know what they have and you will pay for it.
Very similar to 1st Dibs, you can make offers and learn about antiques as well as connect with dealers. Also like 1st Dibs, you’ll be paying for some unique finds more times than none. A great place to scroll and learn, any who knows, maybe a deal will come across.
An online shop to be admired. You know those shops that you can go and just walk around and admire, and that typically leads to walking out with something unexpected… well Elsie Green is the digital version of that. Not only do they have beautiful antiques, I feel like I am strolling through a favorite local shop as I scroll their page.
Ebay
Ebay is a great place to shop for antiques. I’ve used eBay for years to shop for antiques especially when I am searching for a specific item. If you are looking to just browse through the antiques available on eBay and not a particular item you can do that as well though! I have found great crystal chandeliers, barn lights, panoramic photos, & more using ebay!
Etsy
Etsy is one of my favorite places to find unique antique items. Whether you just want to browse through antiques or are searching for something, in particular, I highly recommend checking out Etsy. Anytime I share an antique with you guys & someone asks where to find something similar I always recommend checking on Etsy. There are so many good finds here!
Facebook Marketplace
Facebook marketplace is a great place to find antiques for sale in your area. I’ve discovered that you can often find items for a really great price because they may not know the value of the item & just want to sell it. Another bonus to Facebook Marketplace is that you can arrange a pickup & pay with cash if you prefer!
Small shops selling online or Instagram
Many small antique shops and boutiques sell online or Instagram. Especially in times like we are in now, many have quickly switched over to selling online to keep their business going. Check to see if any of your favorite local shops are selling online & support them this way!

IMO- one of the very best things about stores being currently closed is that if we pay attention we can see how much money we totally waste on things we do not need in our homes or lives. Consumerism is out of control and our landfills over flow with peoples whims and desires to be in style. Vintage items stand the test of time and often hold some resale value should we need to gather a buck here or there..Folks do not need to have the latest and greatest item or style to have a charming, comfortable home. Current trends soon end up in the landfill. One must ask themselves why the need to constantly shop? Somethings missing inside when we strive to constantly stay on trend with our clothing or home fashion choices. How our heart is dressed is of more importance IMO.
