I’m so excited to finally share the DIY clothesline with you guys! So many of you have been patiently waiting for this since I shared the sneak peek on my Instagram a few weeks ago. When we first moved to this farm a couple of years ago there were a few things that I knew the farm needed & one of them was a clothesline. We finally got around to adding one to the farm this summer thanks to Jose who decided to DIY his own & I was so excited to share with you & he was so kind to put together the tutorial as well for you guys wanting to add one to your home…
One of the biggest reasons I wanted a DIY clothesline is because I hate using our dryer in the house. It just doesn’t dry our clothes like a good old fashioned clothes line does… & doesn’t every farm need a clothesline? I agree!
We placed the DIY clothesline in front of our sheep’s pasture so while I hang clothes I have an amazing view of our sheep babies. We do have plans to plant giant lilac bushes around the clothesline and around the fence for beauty and scent purposes so stay tuned for that, but for now here is the line raw & just freshly done…

Love a good, old fashion clothes line! Beautiful job, Jose, I need to ask my husband to build this, our property doesn’t have one anymore and our last one had the old metal poles; this is so much nicer!
I don’t live in the countryside and I have a clothesline. It is the best year round! There is nothing like the fresh smell of sheets dried on the line. Enjoy an old fashion gift from nature. God bless!
Your clothesline takes me back to my childhood. We had lines very similar to yours. I recently Had to remove mine, but I’ll be checking out Jose’s tutorials I’d like to build another one. My mom was very particular about how clothes were hung. It drove me crazy but I find myself still doing it the way she taught me. Like items together and hung in the same direction lol.
I love my clothesline and when i moved to my house had trouble finding one but i did and am so glad to see more are going up. I hang my bedding on my clothesline from season to season and smells so much fresher. This is something for Hose, he may have already done this, add legs to pieces of furniture that don’t have them. I adore the clothesline. Also, be careful in the future if you do plant any flowering tree/bush. When I was very young, my mother handed me fresh undies straight from the clothesline and there was a wasp in them, and I got stung =(
