I recently shared on Instagram about a stash of antique frames I’ve been hoarding… or collecting… I’ll let you decide which one. I made an amazing gallery wall with some of them that you can see [HERE] in our entryway & decided to play with some of them on the other side of the room as well to reflect that new gallery wall I made earlier this week. On the other side of the living room is our mantel area so I decided to play around with some of the antique frames on the mantel area and arrange them in a way I had never styled the mantel before. This is what I came up with…

Perfectly vintage goodness right? I wanted a super casual layered look here so I only hung one of the prints and let the others just rest on the mantel. I hung up one of my panoramic photos that reflects all the panoramics on the other side of the room & then I layered some other eclectic antique frames in front of the hanging panoramic. I wanted the mantel to look like it was someones house who lived a very long life filled with family and hobbies that they wanted to display on their mantel. This mantel really looks similar to my grandparents mantel that they still have styled at their home. Though it’s very different because theirs is styled with frames collected over many years with pictures of our family over various stages of life & other collectables that have meaning. Their mantel tells a story of their lives & the things that they are most proud of & that is valuable beyond words. Mine is inspires by that nostalgia & brings that cozy factor to a whole new level thinking of sitting in my grandparents living room on the floor in front of the fireplace watching movies with my grandparents. I especially love that family reunion photo and studying all the family members in the photo. To top off the eclectic frames I topped the mantel off with a chippy piece of architectural salvage I had & some faux horns. Of course I added some real greens as well on each side of the mantel to bring some life to the mantel.

I love the eclectic vibes of this mantel that I styled this week & I love that it proves that it doesn’t have to be planned out to be pretty. The casualness of it all is charming to me and casual vibes feel really cozy to me. I’m really into the unstructured natural layouts lately have been really speaking to my cozy loving heart lately & I’m here for it.
