Happy day after Christmas! Many of us are sitting here wondering when we are going to take down our Christmas decor, cleaning up all the Christmas aftermath, & just trying to enjoy the rest of the holiday time that is left with family and friends. I also know that a lot of us have transitioning our Christmas decor to farmhouse winter decor on our minds because I’ve been getting a ton of questions about how to decorate farmhouse winter decor over on my Instagram. I plan on showing you many ideas on how we decorate our home for winter, but I thought I would start today by sharing with you some winter decor inspiration that I love to hopefully inspire you to decorate your homes for this season after the holidays. I’ve done winter decor inspiration posts [HERE] & [HERE] before if you are looking for more. I know I always need all of the inspiration this time of year so I’m hopefully here to help you!
Let’s look at Farmhouse Winter Decor inspiration
A fresh greenery wreath is a sure way to welcome your guests & the farmhouse winter decor to your home. A simple wreath with some simple greens is all you need.
Real farmhouse fresh greens in antique pots instantly bring a winter vibe to any space. Mixed with tons of cozy textures and farm vibe decor is the perfect winter decor combo!
All the pillows with all the texture! Muted winter tones of blues, grays, whites, & all the subtle patterns for layering on sofas, beds, & chairs. A little tip for season pillows: buy just the pillow covers so you can change them out season to season. OR use the same neutral pillows every season & just later a couple season specific ones with each change of the season.
This winter planter is perfect for all winter long with the moody antique dark metals mixed with the winter greens. Nothing too “Christmas-y” & would look even better with a little snow on it.
String lights are always a good idea, but especially when the snow hits them all winter long. I love adding string lights in all our outdoor winter decor from the porch to the greenhouse. A warm glow all winter long is so lovely!
A simple winter basket centerpiece that would look good on any table in your home from a coffee table to dining room table to an entryway table. A round basket with some winter greens & a candlesticks is all you need! This centerpiece is using mercury glass candle holders, but wood or antique gold would be amazing as well!
Celebrating the snow and cold temperatures with candles, winter greens, and lots of glass & metal textures is my favorite. I love the metal letters here in this cozy corner & the use of real greens!
Faux fur rugs, pillows, & all the cozy things. Faux fur adds an element of cozy and a little bit of nature indoors.
A simple neutral wreath & garland are great to add winter greens to your spaces. They don’t have any festive vibes so they don’t scream “Christmas” at all. I also love adding neutral plaids and tons of cozy textures like these pillows.
In my very humble opinion I think naked pine trees whether real or fake are good all winter. After December 25th these little pine trees are just winter pine trees & they are a beautiful way to decorate for the season!
A simple green garland of euculyptus and pine mixed with a wooden bead garland is the perfect way to style tables or mantles. Nothing festive about it just beautiful wintery greens. If this is how you decorated for Christmas.. you are in luck because it’s a classic look that lasts all winter!
Layers of linens on all the things from beds to sofas to available linens for guests. Knitted blankets, gorgeous linens, and soft textured blankets all in neutral palettes screams winter nap to me & is a must in our home!
Make cozy accessible all winter long. Whether it’s investing in bath items, lounge wear, & keeping all your relaxing places clean like you lounge areas and bathroom areas where you can relax and take a tub and take advantage of warm cozy moments… make it accessible and ready for unwinding & uplifting those days of winter blues!
Winter pottery and materials like marble, antique textures, rustic finishes are all a combination of winter goodness! This combo right here is a few of my favorite things!

I am a New Years Dayer with the undecorating, however I only put our tree up last week, so I am not at the stage of “get it out of here!” And I have been watering (proud moment for me) so it isn’t a hot mess all over yet, haha!

Of course! We love winter decor! Some people over look it and drag out Christmas Decor… strip the house and prep for spring.. There is a great season, winter, to decorate still!

I love your ideas, and like you said i just leave out some of my Christmas deer,pine trees and use them for winter decorating. I put my Christmas up after and before New Years. I like how new it looks after the mess is cleaned, lol!!
