HI friends! First of all I want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who entered the $1,000 dollar giveaway on the blog, the winner was picked today & announced on the facebook page {here}. So, many of you may have seen this lovely mossy green dresser in our master bedroom reveal {here}, but now I want to show you the before & the after & the in betweens of how I re-did it. Let’s start with the “before”….

There was lots of damage to this little baby, but nothing that some paint and tlc couldn’t fix. ps. I took this photo via instagram, if you don’t follow me, I’m mad at you 😉 You can follow me {here} I love chatting on there, so let’s be friends!

Can we talk about how much I love the gold hardware on this baby? Here is how I achieved the gold hardware…

That’s right, my trusty rub n’ Buff that I got from Michaels. As you can see by the tube I have used it a lot & I’m obsessed. If you haven’t used Rub n’ Buff it’s really simple, you literally rub & buff. You can get this product in many colors like teal, silver, and some others, but by far my favorite is this grecian gold. To make the hardware Gold I simply applied the product with my fingers {it gets messy, but it’s the best way I have found to do it} I rub it all over the surface with my fingers & then I buff it off with a rag. The product has a smooth and durable finish with very little drying time. It’s pretty much amazing.

The color of the dresser is a funny story. I was instantly drawn to this green by Valspar called Valencia Moss. After getting the paint color home I realized it was eerily similar to our guest bathroom, & sure enough it was the same color. I guess I really love it. It’s for sure one of my favorite colors by Valspar & I for sure recommend this green for any of your projects. After distressing the dresser with a sanding block I used Annie Sloan’s dark wax to seal it.

I think this dresser adds the perfect eclectic touch of rustic cabin feel to our master bedroom & I couldn’t be happier with how this piece turned out. What do you think of my mossy green dresser?
