You guys. I got to do probably the most exciting thing while in Waco this past week. Well, maybe it could have been more exciting, but y’all… I needed this. You know, I’ve said it before but after our last miscarriage I’ve struggled in so many ways & still am a lot, but in one way I was struggling with feeling inspired & thankfully our trip to Waco truly inspired me in so many ways from the shops, to the food, to the rest we got… it was all good for my soul! One big thing we did was visit The Morrow House for the afternoon & check out the beautiful bed & breakfast that I have been admiring for so long. If you don’t know about the Morrow House, it was on season 5 episode 1 on Fixer Upper. It was the very first home built in this neighborhood in 1886. The pave stones walking into the house are original to the home and were found during renovations. We photographed it & took a vlog of it because I knew you guys would love it as well & we just had to share the beauty of this home to hopefully inspire you & also… how could we keep this to ourselves? That would just be plain selfish….

Let’s start at the front door when you walk into the gorgeous home on Morrow Street…. You walk into a gorgeous long dining room surrounded by rustic plank walls & flanked by two exterior doors on either side with statement lights above the long dining table. Just a stunning entrance to a stunning home. The ceilings are very high throughout the entire home & it really makes every space look bigger because of the high ceilings. All of the rustic painted wood around the house adds so much cozy texture to each space.

 

 

 

After that the house spreads out from here with doorways to all sides of the house from his room. If you head to the back of the dining room you enter a gorgeous guest bedroom & an even prettier bathroom. The bed is a massive statement piece & the high ceilings are accented by the rustic panels & an antique chandelier. I can’t get over this large bed guys… it’s just the best.  Then when you walk into the bathroom it’s like all your dreams of a big beautiful bathroom come true. From the gorgeous clawfoot tub to all that beautiful subway tile… it’s just not fair. The mirrors displayed above the sink are a perfect example of how inspiring this home really is. I’ll just leave it at that because this bathroom speaks for itself.

When you walk back through the dining room you can go through another door off the dining room into another one of the guest rooms that houses two beds. The floor to ceiling windows are in this room along with most every room in the house with the charming shutters. I love the vibe of this room & think it would be a great teenage boys bedroom. The bathroom off of this bedroom has an adorable corbel counter where the sink is & of course a dramatic tile wall that makes the historic home bathroom a cozy space….

 

When you walk through the dining room again across the way you enter the most beautiful room I have ever seen in my entire life. The living room. It’s a cozy room filled with tons of natural light from the large windows. & there is the most gorgeous large chandelier I have ever seen in my entire life. I love the eclectic mix of furniture from the long tufted sofa to the white slipcovered beauty. You know that I love the architectural salvage hanging on the wall as well. This room was my absolute favorite room in the whole house and I could have sat here all day and basked in all that light. Can you even imagine a nap in this room & waking up to this beautiful light?!

 

 

Off of this living room is the most beautiful kitchen I have ever seen. My FAVORITE thing was the huge historic pocket door that separated the living room & the kitchen… I have a weird obsession with pocket doors & these were dreamy! They made this smaller kitchen so large by bringing the cabinets all the way to the ceiling & they kept it light and bright with the white cabinets & pops of brass. The lighting in here is so great & looks original to the home, but they are actually from Pottery Barn, they were so great at making this house stay true to it’s historic roots even while making it cozy for modern day use. I could go on about this kitchen rom the marble countertops to the gorgeous floors & windows, but you guys can see all of that!

 

When you walk through the kitchen you end up in the little back entryway that is filled with so much love. What do I mean by that? The walls are filled with letters from past guests telling them how amazing their stay was in the Morrow house. It was so awesome to read them.. it actually gave me chills. Past the entryway you walk into a gorgeous bedroom that was probably the coziest bedroom in the whole house because out of the large windows you got to look out onto gorgeous trees & other nature scenes. It’s tucked back out of the way & like all the other rooms, it has the cutest little bathroom attached complete with a very nice shower like all of the other bathrooms as well.

Ok, I took a thousand more photos, but I’m sure you get the point… this house was everything I had ever dreamed it would be & MORE. I still can’t believe I got to see it in real life.. I am not worthy. I will forever treasure how this house made me feel. It’s happy, inspiring, & tells such a story from the past. Do you know how hard it was for me to leave this gorgeous home? The hardest thing ever. I didn’t want to walk out, but alas I just told myself that I would come back one day and stay here in my dream house.
