Ok… this whole bed thing was getting old for a while. It just really was. It all started when we moved into this house Jose and I had a queen sized bed because our last master bedroom was so tiny a king wouldn’t fit. But when we moved to this house with a bigger room we immediately got a king size bed so we could sleep with all of our dogs of course. We found this lovely Magnolia bed that we both fell in love with & we got it all set up in our room. The first thing I said was “wow this bed is high!” But I didn’t think more about it until that night when our little Bella jumped off the bed and got badly hurt. I thought she just had to adjust, but quickly realized… the bed was too high for the pups & though I loved it, I love my dogs more. So there we were without a bed again & we sold that one. Then we made a headboard out of old doors for the time being & that worked great for a while, but I knew we would have a “real bed” again when we started working on our room again. Well, we started working on our room & I found the perfect little bed for us & I wanted to share it with you guys today…

I found this bed at Wayfair [HERE] & it’s one I’ve been eyeing for a while since I wrote [this post] a few months ago about the best metal farmhouse beds. The vibe I wanted in this room is a cozy cottage bedroom. Like you rent a cottage for a week and this is the cozy retreat you walk into upon your arrival. I wanted our bedroom to be simple, eclectic, & have a vintage vibe that I love. & this bed fit that criteria perfect. It’s subtle in the best way possible & fits that vintage cottage vibe we wanted. Jose said right away that he was very impressed by the quality as he was putting it together which was quite the compliment I thought. I was impressed with the color of the bed. I feared it would be “stark white” & that the antiquing would look too fake since the color was called “antique white”, but it’s the perfect creamy white with slight distressing that isn’t “too much”. The bedding is from Macy’s and is on major sale right now [HERE] I loved it so much because it looks like a vintage chenille quilt & I loved it even more when it came in the mail. I will say if you are looking for a very thick quilt… this isn’t the one for you. It’s thinner, but that’s exactly what I wanted for layering.

The room is FAR from done, but as you can see I did manage to hang up the vintage floral print above the bed that inspired the entire room. There will be wall sconces on both side of the painting & lots more changes to the room, but the bed was a big move in progress. Ya’ll I’m so excited about this master bedroom makeover & I’m feeling all kinds of inspired now! I’ll be back later with a full mood board for this space so you can see the direction we are going in & I will also be back with another update asap. Oh, & you can see we painted the floors in here! It’s so fresh & so clean now that we do not have the old carpet in here… It’s shocking what a difference it makes!
