Another kitchen update today?! And we are talking about kitchen light fixtures! This one is a little interesting because we are in the middle of doing something, but I wanted to share our progress with you. You see we have wanted to add lights to the top of our kitchen window since before we even started the kitchen remodel. Well, it’s that time. A while back I threw up an architectural piece above the sink & I didn’t say anything, but of course you guys noticed because you are amazing & I said we were waiting to try something out with it & I’m here today to reveal it to you…

Lights!! You see we found this architectural piece a while back & right away I wanted to hang it above the sink & then I came up with the idea to put some wall mounted sconces on it to try something new. All we did was mounted the lights onto the architectural pice & they are wired into the ceiling & a light switch.. that’s the long way of saying that they are hard wired. I got the lights from wayfair [HERE] & they are very similar to the ones in our dining room [HERE]. I’m obsessed with these wall sconces & they are my favorites we have ever had & now I love them even more now that they are adding gorgeous light to our kitchen. The only other lights in the kitchen before these were the antique barn lights that offer pretty good help, but more light was needed to make the kitchen more functional and feel more complete. The “testing part” Sometimes as a renovator & someone who likes to to constantly decorate, re-decorate, & style… I wanted to try the lights on the wall & on the architectural piece to see what it would look like. I love the chippy detail the architectural piece adds to the kitchen & how unique it makes the space. I also love that it draws your eye up past the window. & now that I got rid of the chippy corbels, it still adds the chippy detail to the space that I love. One more thing I love? The lights are mounted on to the architectural piece & so there are very minimal holes in the wall if we ever decided to try something different. The best parts about the lights is that they are adjustable for lighting options, dimmable which is a huge bonus, & I love the antique vibe that they have. So, will the architectural piece stay? I don’t know yet… will the lights stay? I hope so because I love them!

So, for the kitchen  update today… we have new lights! That’s quite exciting because it’s just one more step in completing our kitchen. We still need to replace the stove, figure out the area by the fridge, touch up the paint, decide on the final lighting, & some other details, but you guys… we have a working kitchen that is getting prettier by the day & I couldn’t be happier with that. I’ll do a kitchen video tour soon because I know a lot of you have been asking for a full view & this space can get super confusing with the layout with the sunroom, breakfast nook, grill area, & all of that.
