I first want to say something today that I need to say, but I don’t know if it will make sense. Just bear with me. I feel like I’ve been kind of messy and all over the place with these blog posts of ours about our fixer upper farmhouse. I never stay in one room, I’m always starting a project before finishing another project, & I never have a plan in place. I just wanted to say sorry for being a mess, Thank you for putting up with the mess, I hope that you enjoy following this process, & I want you to know that I appreciate you coming on here everyday to see where we are at in our process. One day I may be in a cleaner season where my blog posts are well organized daily, but for now… it’s all kind of one big beautiful mess. Thank you for sticking by my side. On to today’s fixer upper update. It’s a quick one because well, I didn’t get very far on the staining process, but I couldn’t wait to share the progress with you guys…
These photos were taken on my phone during a rain storm so it was very dark & I don’t think they depict the color very well, but you get the general idea. If you missed it I blogged the stain & color choice for the flooring in our front living room, kitchen, & dining room [HERE]. WE went with Old Barn Milk Paint stain & ya’ll so far I am in love! If you guys want an oder free stain that has a gorgeous finish… you need to check them out! You can see the color combo I concocted myself [HERE] to get this finish. Sorry about the terrible photos in this post, but when we get farther I will take some better ones for you. This is the area around our fireplace in the front living room. If you wonder what our entire house looks like, well, it’s one big mess… but one day soon it will all be stained and pretty!

What is the finish like on the OBMP stain? Since it’s an all in one, is it matte, satin?
I LOL’d at the beginning of your post because I feel ya! Our house has been a construction zone for years and there is unfinished EVERYWHERE. Floors are done in some rooms, but the trim still hasn’t been put back. Walls have been removed and patched, but have yet to be painted. My sister refers to one of my living room walls as the ombre wall because part is old paint, part is new drywall, and part is drywall tape and plaster. I walked through the house yesterday evening and realized that I do not have one finished room in the whole house after 7 years, but I still drug out all the fall decor and decorated anyway. Thank you for all the inspiration and I LOVE the stain.
