  7. Jo says:

I agree. You hit the old nail right on the head. This floor is going to be perfection. Good job.

  8. kim says:

love the color you picked for floors,,that is the color i wanted when we bought our floors. i also wanted pine or even a good laminate pine look but ended up we took vote and ended up with hickory and not real wide,,,you did the right thing and took your time to get perfect color,,,my floors are ok, but i feel i rushed. i went with what my husband and daughter liked cause i was ready to be done,,lol. it is not like i dont like my floors, but for long time i had in my mind that i loved the warm look of pine floors..another reason we went with a 2nd choice floor is that we stained our ceiling and 10 yrs ago the stain that was real popular it seemed was the warm kind of orange color i guess. wish i could remember name of color,,it is what a lot people have used i had noticed on their ceilings and so we needed to go with similar color floor, but didnt match it completely but blends well together,,it is car siding on ceiling of fam rm..in sun room yet to be done we have the car siding on ceiling unfinished,,i am debating on just to stain same color then fm to tie together and then later possible white wash over the stain,,prob not both rooms white wash though so prob be stained only for while,,my husband may be actually going to start on the sun room to finish soon,,,it has been so long waiting to use that space and possible take out a huge wide window to make pass through or fold out windows,,or maybe just leave in and take door off that also on that wall and leave opento sun room,,,i so debated to leave all open to sunroom but i knew we was not going to finish it for so long and i had a dry sink and old hoosier cabinet i fitted along kit/sunroom wall that worked out well,,prob silly to make a room around those 2 items, lol and could have prob put in sun room lol,,but i felt panicked,,we did things that lot people might not, like a 2 sided fp between kit and fam rm with doorways on each side w wall,,,kit side yet to be done cause i cant decide what brick to use,,,might not match exact stone to kit side too,,might do brick and wood and on fam side we have just stone and huge mantle my husband made,,rustic,,too many decisions 10 yrs later,,,but hopefully all will get done and pantry room needs done,,lol love your home..i love my white farmhouse we designed and husband built on 5 acres he use to farm with his dad when he was very young.,.my floors have little dark and lighter color mixed and shows up darker in pics then is..love your home and decor ideas!!!

The combination is perfect. Custom White Cottage Farm. Maybe they should make that color and name it after the farm!
I hope progress moves forward and we see more of that kitchen!

    Best to you and Jose.

Love the warm wood floors with the white walls. Very cozy. It will always be in style 🙂

  12. Sue says:

OMG it’s gorgeous!! I was so hoping for stain. Your color is timeless and so warm and inviting. I wonder how cabinets would loook in this stain? I’m still deciding what to do with my 1990’s orange oak cabinets. I love the feeling of your color. What do you think about this on cabinets?? Can’t wait to see your floors finished. Good thing you didn’t rush into it. God was guiding you the whole way! Happy for you.

  13. GAH! Everything is coming along SO nicely! Liz, I am so excited for you and Jose through this transformation! You’ve both worked so hard for this! HUGS and LOVE!

  14. Sandy says:

    Hi,

Love the stain color, but I also love the rug! Where’s it from & what’s the color – please share!

  18. Lisa says:

    Love it! Great compromise. ??

  19. Patty Bretheim says:

I love your blog posts, they are so full of info. Keep up the great job. Very enjoyable!! Thanks, Patty B.

  20. Lisa says:

Does not surprise me… you came up with your own mix. Every S.I.N.G.L.E thing you do, is perfection. I swoon. ♥

  21. Sharon C says:

This is the perfect combination stain color for your floors, perfect for your farmhouse and perfect with all your decor! I agree with one of the other comments, Old Barn Milk Paint should produce and name this stain color Custom White Cottage Farm.

  22. Jerri says:

Love the color….how clever of you!! I also love your dining room rug! Would you happen to have the manufacturer you could share?

  23. Kristy says:

    That is perfect. Love it.

  24. Chris says:

Perfection!!! Well, no surprise really. If you find yourself torn between two colors and neither one is quite “it”, makes perfect sense to mix equal parts of the two and come up with your goldilocks (just right) solution!! Liz, you’re brilliant!! It is lovely.

  25. I think you chose the right color! It’s the best of both worlds… you still maintain the lighter feel to the space, yet it has the subtle dark that will warm the space up!? I can’t wait to see it all once completed!

  26. Katelyn says:

That looks great! I agreed with the darker being too trendy, so I’m glad you found something that you’ll love and will still remain true to the farmhouse feel. Love it!

  27. Marilyn says:

    Hi Liz!
Great color choice! I think it will look beautiful in your home. I’m also searching for a stain and am interested in this product
because it’s non-toxic! Do you plan on putting anything on top of it to protect the stain and floor from wear- polyurethane etc? I don’t see anyone else on their Instagram feed who has used it on floors. Maybe you are the first, and I can’t wait to see how you like the product.

I’m coming to your store in a few weeks from Nashville!

  28. Jenna says:

Love the color! We are doing the same flooring in our new construction home. I too am wondering what goes on top (if anything?) I see th OBMP has the finish right in it, but is it suitable for flooring?

  29. Jodi says:

    Liz,

I’ve been dying to know which one you both chose! That is the perfect stain color—see you’re so brilliant!

Can’t wait to see the finished rooms!

    Jodi
