Earlier this week I blogged our summer lemon dining room [HERE] and I was inspired to styled our mantel with lemons. I styled our summer mantel with lemons four ways. There is no “right way” to decorate, but there are different unique ways to style a space that are all wonderful. It all started with three lemon paintings from my pal Holly from Hollyhocks & Hydrangeas.

Each of the four styles start the same, three lemon paintings up top with some lemon garland on the mantel. The big changes are on the hearth below the mantel.
The first design is a simple yet polished look with two large corbels from my friend Jessica & Co. Vintage. They are massive and really bring your eye down after looking at the beautiful lemons up top, yet it’s not super busy so the focal point is still on the summer lemon mantel.

The second design is a little busier and has more color and interest on the hearth. I’ve placed a vintage white stool, a chippy green doll bed, and a lemon pillow from Linen & Ivory. All of the textiles make this look cozier and for sure more of a focal point along with what is going on up top on the mantel with lemon garland.

This design is super busy, but I don’t hate it. It might be different than what I normally do, but that’s the fun of all of this. Trying new ways to decorate and experimenting with new elements and new arrangements is the perfect way to figure out which design best fits your vibe. This practice is a fun way to find out new things about your decorating styles by finding new things you like and dislike.

Design 4 is my favorite! Tons of texture with the vintage cloth cart, stool, and pillows like that anchor a pillow from my friend Fabric Scout Studio. My decorating style is very cozy so this design is everything that I love about a summer lemon mantel. I also love that it is summer time and we are not using the fireplace, so blocking it off with beautiful pieces takes away the focal point of the inside.

Isn’t it cool seeing the summer mantel styled with lemons? I was able to use the same items and design four very distinct looks. I hope you guys liked these four design options. Thank you guys for stopping by the blog today, it means the world to me!

They’re all adorable, number two is my favorite.
I have a mantle exactly like yours. It fit perfectly up and around my guest room window. I place fun, favorite items up on top and it makes the small room so homey.
The lemon painting are amazing! I love style #1. Your fireplace is stunning. Thanks for sharing. Have a lovely start to the weekend. Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
So so beautiful!! Can you tell us where you found your lemon garland?
Yes please!!
For me, it’s a tie between your favorite and the second option. Love them both!
