A few weeks back, I blogged our farmhouse entryway [here] with Birch Lane. I went from blogging our house being a total mess to all the sudden showing you this entryway gallery wall, that was completed & I’m sure that was super confusing. That’s pretty normal for me… I’m bad with my words & better with visuals. So let me try to explain…

The Backstory

This part of our house  is torn up. I’m talking holes in the floor on the other side of this entryway & a complete construction zone. Nonetheless, we still use this entryway for guests and to go out to our porch; so I still wanted to style this area even though there is no flooring… that’s kind of how we live here at White Cottage Farm. We make the in-between look beautiful along the way.

I’ve been meaning to come back on here and share with you the actual gallery wall we hung here in the space because I kind of skimmed over that part before. Also, in true Liz Marie fashion, I’ve already made some changes since I last blogged it a few weeks ago. Here is what it looked like on this gloomy fall day….

The Finds

That painting in the center is from our store, The Found Cottage, painted by Mary Demaagd. The street sign, corbel, antlers, time punch holder, clock, medicine cabinet, mason jars, wood crate, & the church pew; are all found items over the years.

The new thing I added… that lovely medicine cabinet. I did have a hotel key holder hanging there, but when I saw this at a local vintage store I had to have it. I love that there is now a mirror in the entryway to check and see if I got all the paint out of my hair before I go out in public.

Those pillows are some of my favorites as well. The word pillow is from The Dotted Bow & the grain sack pillows are from Farmhouse On Boone. That lamp is from Painted Fox [here] & that table is from Birch Lane [here] along with the rugs. The pumpkins are from our shop & that round basket is from Target.

Planning the Wall

It would be a lie to say that I planned this gallery wall out & that I was an organized designer who had this idea in mind for a while & carefully measured it all out & actually used a level. This gallery wall came to life one night at 2am when I couldn’t sleep. Digging through our boxes of stuff that we had not unpacked from our move yet & with a cup of coffee in one hand & a hammer in the other this gallery wall was born.

First, thinking that I was only going to add three pieces to the wall, but again in true Liz Marie fashion, that went out of the window. I needed a focal point to start from and I found that in the beautiful barn painting. Once I established where that was going to, I moved out from there… no plan, just lost my fear of putting holes in the wall.

I love the farmhouse entryway eclectic vibe that this collection gives & I think it will be a great starting point to decorating the rest of the room when that time comes. Each of the items I used for the gallery wall are items that I’ve collected and loved so this wall is pretty special to me.

I’m loving how cozy this space is especially in contrast to the other side of the room. I will hopefully be updating you on that side of the room this week because it’s been so long since I’ve done a house renovation update. We have slowed down a little bit lately with the busyness of the season, but some little things have been happening as always. What do you guys think of our farmhouse entryway gallery wall?
