Wow, that doesn’t look like it was any work at all!! (Wink wink) I’d say to go all JG on that floor and do something amazing and creative with paint! Xx

YaY!!! A find like that is a great reason to celebrate! I would sand & stain and let them retell that history of their glorious days 🙂

What a lucky find! Having refinished my share of old wood floors, you’ve got your work cut out for you but it’s so rewarding. What do you plan to do with the wainscoting and door frames in the room? That may help you decide how to treat the floors.

  6. Janet Duncan says:

LOVE!!!! We have the original pine floors in our old farmhouse too! You can’t recreate that character….some try…but there’s nothing like the imperfections of a home well loved!! We call it Arrogantly Shabby! LOL Enjoy your future “treasure hunts”.

  7. That is amazing that you found them! How did you know to keep digging? If I saw the sub floor I would have thought, oh bummer. But, maybe knowing that the house was that old and typically would have hard wood floors? I am so happy that you found this house! I dream of something like this to renovate and live on. I too love the history and digging for buried treasure!

  16. Hey there would you mind stating which blog platform you’re working with?

I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a tough time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and
Drupal. The reason I ask is because your
design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for
something unique. P.S Apologies for being off-topic but I had to
    ask!
