the sofa is beautiful. Your site will never fully load for me. It’s forever trying to load ads. I’m on a desktop using Chrome if that helps you find the problem. I rarely come here any more because your page just freezes up.

I’m not sure what you were trying to say here, it doesn’t make sense. you were scared that you would love them or be impressed? isn’t that what you would hope for?

“I was really scared because of the price of the sofas that I would love them or be impressed. I was totally wrong.”

  2. I loved these when I saw them. I also loved The Nola sofa and The Rae chair. So many yummy things to dream about putting in our home!! 🙂

  3. Haliey says:

I have followed your blog for years but over $2k for EACH sofa…corbel lighting at over $300 bucks each? I’m happy that your blog has provided you such success, but I personally feel like your blog is no longer relative to us common folk.

  4. Morgan Ford says:

    Dear LizMarie,

I was SO excited to leave a comment for the first time today. I have been following you for some time now, but have never reached out to let you before. I created my own blog and now understand how heart warming it is to hear from your viewers. But then I read a few comments above and my heart sank. I can not believe the messages people leave you. I read these early this morning and my heart has weighed heavy for you all day. I know these are probably not the first hateful comments, nor will they be the last, but I hope to leave you a note that can uplift your spirits and brighten your day. I ADORE your home, your style, your blog and everything else you do. I am so happy for you and your store and can not wait to see it for myself. Congratulations on the new furniture you deserve! I am so happy for you, and hope you have a wonderful week!

You inspire me and so many others.

    Take care friend,
    Morgan

Dear Liz, I’m in the active “research phase” of my next couch hunt. Seems that whenever my husband gets deployed, I BUY FURNITURE… It could be worse, someone’s spouse from his last mission bought a COTTAGE. I keep reminding my DH of this.
Anywhooo, I just discovered this blog and think that my repurposed-chalk-painting-vintage-loving soul has found a home. Question about these awesome couches… are they “FLOP-able”? How would they work if they were in your everyday family room area. Cats, kids and dogs who all love to lay fully spread out (space hoggers) Does that main cushion have inner springs? Love the nail heads, has that ever NOT been “in style”?

  6. LizMarie says:

Hey Sally!!! So sorry about the blog being slow for you, I am getting it fixed very very soon & it should load all the way & be much faster. Thank you for letting me know about the typo.. those happen a lot to me & I hope you can read over that & know what I meant 😉 oops!!!

  7. LizMarie says:

Hi Haliey!! Thank you for the feedback. I know I started this blog when I was 23 and my style has changed and so has our home a lot. I do like missing some more expensive pieces with my free junkin finds I find in old barns. I’m so sorry if that offends you in any way how we spend our money. I hope my other posts are helpful and inspirational. I do love a freebie, but once in a while after I save my money I like to splurge on an item as well. xx

  8. LizMarie says:

HAHAHAHAHA One time when Jose was deployed.. I bought a HOUSE. Please tell him that a sofa is so worth it. I’m going to be honest and say that I purchased these for our formal area because I didn’t need them to be “flop-able” BUT they are quite cozy. They are smaller than your normal sofas and the hight back makes you kind of sit up straight. I wish you could come over and test them out for yourself!! The dogs do love the sofa & the bottom cushion cover is removable to wash as well as the pillows. BUT the back is not removable to wash sooo there is that. I am no help am I!

  9. mary sutherland says:

love that you list costs of products…thanks for including that very helpful information. It gives us a great idea what to look for and estimate when planning a room. And….at the risk of bringing up a sore subject….@2000.00 for a well made, comfortable, quality piece of furniture is a DEAL…there are too many pieces of furniture on the market that are just not going to hold up. You get what you pay for…and you got some great pieces! congratulations on you amazing success, beautiful home and thank you for taking the time to share it with us. best regards, mary

  10. Dear Liz…I so wish that Sally & Haliey, whom both commented above, could take a moment and think before they leave a rude comment. It hurts my heart when ladies say things just to be mean. I guess they are possibly insecure. Maybe they need to hurt others to make themselves feel better? It is sad grown people can’t just be encouraging to one another.
And just for the record, I have Chrome on a desktop, and your blog loads so quickly…no waiting on my part at all. Also, writers make type-o mistakes consistently…you used the word would instead of wouldn’t. NO ONE should point out typing errors. That’s very rude. I wonder if Sally has a blog?
Also, one way to tell if someone is happy for the success of your blog…is when they leave encouraging and uplifting compliments on your blog posts. NOT when they call you out for spending a certain amount on a sofa. That actually means they are jealous of your hard work and success. You certainly relate directly to us common folk…everyone can save money to purchase furniture. I’m sorry that these ladies took time from their day to be deceitful. Shame on both of them.
I celebrate your success! God will bless you for your hard work and kindness. Don’t EVER let rude people bring you down. Keep pressing on, sister! Your home is beautiful, your sofas are gorgeous, and I pray you continued success and an outpouring of blessings!

  11. Donna says:

Wow, why leave a rude comment! Why not be happy for someone I dont understand this never will! I love your style and your blog! Would love to visit your store sometime! You are a blessing! Its sad but rude people I think are unhappy people and need our prayers!

  12. Kelly Ann says:

There is nothing “offensive” or “rude” about Sally’s or Haliey’s comment. One notes that her internet browser isn’t supporting the site and identifies a typo in the post (not rude at all btw) and the other states she thinks $2000 for a couch is steep. I’m calling it like I see it and no one is being a jerk. Step off your privileged pedestal and take a different perspective. There are true internet bullies out there. But the bullies on this post are the ones who threw stones at Sally and Haliey when they “spoke their mind”.

  13. Carrie Olson says:

    Liz,

Curious to known what you mean by free finds in old barns?

    Thanks!

  14. Amanda Johnson says:

I totally agree with you, Kelly Ann. I don’t see anything offensive or rude either in Sally and Haliey’s comments. I also feel that LizMarie is free to spend her money, and folks are free to find that price too high. And I do agree that the price does make a blog that was previously relatable and relevant to many with small budgets seem now out of reach for some of those folks. Again, that shouldn’t stop LizMarie with doing whatever she wants with what she’s earned. What I do find kind of a turn off is the very frequent publicizing of big stores like Target etc. It’s one thing to constantly support local shops, but sometimes I feel this blog turns into one giant ad for big corporations. I’m sure that’s not what LizMarie intends, but that’s the vibe it gives off.

  15. Becky says:

    Hi Liz,
I adore the way you styled the corner between your new sofa and your ikea sofa. I’ve noticed that you mix up this corner space every so often and would love to hear more about your personal take on styling odd corners/spaces like this. I have a sofa and love seat that create a corner like this as well and am constantly struggling with the space, as my end table between them just doesn’t fit. Decorating these corner spaces seems to come so natural to some, it’s be so great to read about the thoughts and ideas behind what goes into decorating them! 🙂

    Becky
p.s. I’m loving the style of your new Michigan home! It’s so cozy and inviting!

  16. Peg says:

How come everyone else could speak their mind, but my post was deleted?
I think you are misleading your readers, you have a partnership with The Painted Fox.
And I agree with a couple of the other comments, this blog is no longer a simple DIY blog. Every post is about, “Hey! Look at what I bought today and was able to put together and take endless photos!”
And if there is going to be a response to this, please just put it here. There is no need to answer me “privately”, when you will then blast it all over Instagram.
    Have a great weekend!
    You’re friend, Peg

  18. Julie says:

Question: How do you know that she has a partnership with the Painted Fox? I can’t afford $4500.00 for two sofa’s. However, they are beautiful sofa’s. I am sure 4500.00 is not a lot of money to some but I am paying for my daughter to attend Florida Institute Technology. SO, until that debt is gone I will have to live with my Ikea corner sofa.

You can always find knock offs that look similar.

  22. The next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought youd have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.
