Last week I decided to start a gallery wall on our stairway leading to our lower level living room that we are currently re-doing. Since we live in a tri-level we actually have 3 staircases, two of them that you can see from almost every angle in our home so they stand out a lot. Why not accent them & make them more our style. The staircase gallery wall on our lower level has been started, but I don’t think it’s quite complete yet, & I’m sure things will be added as time goes, but I didn’t want to wait to show you. So this is the beginning of the staircase gallery wall journey in the #LMBhome…

Here is the wall before I started when just the sign was hanging & before we fixed the stairs & started on our lower level living room makeover started…

& after I put a few holes in the walls…

Such a big difference! One thing I learned from this gallery wall is that our staircase is very hard to photograph. Like very hard. The gallery wall is a mix of some eclectic things that I love. Our House Of Belonging sign is in the center, a thrifted shelf holds some lovely frames & a few eclectic items that I’ve had forever, above that is some antlers that I found & love, the cow print is from Target, the spindles & the antique tin magnet board are finds from the store I sell at, & the clock is an Ikea purchase. Question: I am debating on painting the clock an oil rubbed bronze, what do you think? Let me know!

We have been moving a lot of things around & doing a lot of work on the lower level so I have lots of wall [and ceiling.. don’t ask] touch ups before the big reveal of the living room makeover. I can’t wait to show you! My biggest advice when decorating your home is to not be intimidated by putting holes in your walls. Do it. I did it in our rentals & every home we have lived in. Holes are easy to fill & we have never once regretted any of them. Honestly for this wall I never even planned it out I just started hanging things & it worked out. Just do it! All of these items are hung with nails except the items on the shelf & the spindles which are hung with 3M strips. Love those little guys & for those of you who are scared to put holes in your walls & my pep talk didn’t help check out this corner gallery wall I hung in our NC house using all 3M strips [here].

I love that I finally was myself again & put some holes in our wall. It felt good. If you are not loving your spaces in your home right now, go and put some holes in those walls! Hang those family photos, those clocks, those pieces of art. It can make you fall in love with your home again. What do you think of our stair gallery wall so far?
