Love the fold over curtains. They look amazing.

I love this idea of no sew curtains! We just recently moved and we’ve been having large sheets of paper covering our windows. I just hate the thought that my neighbors can see us at night through the windows. I’m very excited about our new window covering on our first floor! It’s nice to see a room come together.

  3. Brittany says:

Just recently dyed me some drop cloths for our sliding glass window curtains. Love how they turned out–and you can’t beat the price for sure!

Question, and I am sure I know the answer, but where did you get your leather chair? I’ve been wanting one for our bedroom, and yours is lovely!

  4. Shana says:

What a great idea and something pretty much anyone can do (and afford)! I’m curious, what color are your walls? I’d love to paint ours and we have similar color furniture and white curtains from Ikea as well– just don’t know where to begin picking a white color. It’s overwhelming!

  5. Ginger Cates says:

Lovely post! Can you please tell me where you got the pet food storage bin?
    Thanks!!

I was wondering how you felt about your rug. Is it a natural grass? I think I have the same one. My family hates ours and I’m not sure how I feel about it. You sure can’t lay on the floor and everything that touches the rug gets full of fibers. Have u written a post about it that I might have missed?? Love your new home. We recently moved to a different state also. Best wishes stesteph

  8. Kelly says:

I would also love to know about the pet food storage bins. Thanks so much.

This is genius!! What a great idea. I’m pretty sure I’ll be stealing this idea.

I was introduced to your blog by the adorable and sweet Rach Lea. She told me how awesome your blog was so I just HAD to check it out! She was so right. I’m a regular follower now 🙂

I LOVE your home! You are such a genius, I think your curtain idea should be hung in every store or in every newspaper for the people that move into homes would use this wonderful idea and NOT hang sheets at the window…there should be a law against it!. This is one of my silly idiosincratic things. If I were healthy I would make them for charity for people who need them. TFS hope.

  11. Debbie in Ontario Canada says:

I had the same idea! Did you wash your drop cloths? I had bought new ones and they had the creases in in them from being folded up in the pkg – washed them and then they shrunk wayyyyyy up lol Just curious how you got the big crease marks out – love your blog, so glad I stumbled across it!!

You’ve been back in Michigan for little while now, how are you liking it? Kinda cold compared to east coast?
I really like the paint cloth curtains best, the fabric is my favorite and how you turned over excess to make the ruffle over curtains. Think I’m needing to do that for bedroom curtains, only stencil on paint cloths. I made curtains out of clearance tablecloths which I lined last year but they’re just not doing it for me. Just have to decide if I’ll stencil or not. Cutting Edge stencils has one I really like, have seen how it looks but want to be very sure before I start. Might just line the paint cloths, leave them plain. Did you bleach your paint cloths when you washed them? Where did you get yours, I’ve noticed different stores have varied shades of cloths?
Did you wash more than once to get them to look as they do? Have to be scientific about how we prepare our drop cloths for curtains. Hope you’re happy being in Michigan. Happy New Year

I just looked at your post with the “before” pictures of you Michigan home. It LOOKS crazy similar to my home (layout wise). How it looks now, I wouldn’t have even known! It gives me hope for ours 🙂 Also, are there any images of the outside of your Michigan home? Would like to know if you have the California ranch look of our home.

  18. Lorraine says:

Thank you for sharing this. I am going to make these someday. I also want to know, where did you get that beautiful leather chair?

  19. julie h. says:

just wondering, a few questions were asked in the comment section, mine included. Does time allow for answers? Just wondering if there is another spot to ask questions on what we see.
    thank you julie

love your drop cloth curtains and the fact that they are “no-sew” makes me love ’em even more! Drop cloths are one of the best home decor supplies available. They make great curtains, chair slipcovers, pillows, table runners, et.al. They take dye and fabric paint like a chairm and wear like iron. Your curtains are so pretty and another great story of how drop cloths always add more.

Lovely! Also wondering where you found the chairs- both gray and leather chairs.
