The dogs & I have a giveaway for you!! Well, I do & the dogs just don’t understand that when I’m taking photos of home decor they can’t sit in front of me & my camera. But aren’t they so cute? Today on the blog I get to talk about two of my favorite things, My marine & House of Belonging Signs. When I met Mr. LMB way back when I was 16, he would drive to the coffee shop I worked at & visit me. He would hang out there with his friends & wait for me to get off, & some days he would come just to say hi or bring me a gift. One of the very first things he ever brought me was a Jack Johnson CD. We would drive around listening to Jack Johnson together & I think it was the most used CD I have ever owned. One of our favorite songs from Jack Johnson was Better Together. From our young age the song had a deep meaning to us & as we got older & we were married & became a military couple the meaning just grew deeper. With each deployment the song became more special to both of us. Along came Tiffini from House of Belonging who makes beautiful signs. You may remember {this} sign in our last house which I am still in love with. This time I went to her with a crazy idea of getting the lyrics to “Better Together” to hang in our house. & again Tiffini created the most stunning piece for our home that has so much meaning. As we go into the next chapter in our lives in the next few months of getting out of the military after a decade of Mr. LMB serving, I am so glad we have these lyrics to look at & remember, It’s always better when we’re together.
Our beautiful sign hasn’t found a permanent spot in our rental quite yet, but for now it’s in this cove in our home & we love that we are able to look at it every time we walk by this spot. We chose the gray font with a cream background, & a gray wash frame for this sign.

Whenever this song comes on we turn into two young kids in love & no idea what the future was going to hold for us. We sometimes slow dance to it in our living room, but every time we can’t help but sing out hearts out to it truly know that in our hearts it really is better when we’re together. After multiple deployments of 7 months each, our hearts know what it’s like to be apart & for that we are thankful because it makes being together so much sweeter.

Love all of her signs!!! We have done multiple deployments as well, most of them being 6-7 months aside from one 13 month. Its tough, but I’ve realized God makes you a military wife for a reason. He must see something special.

I love having a special song, especially as a military couple. I have a very special attachment to Lucky by Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat when my submariner is underway. The words fit so well and yet it’s a cheery happy song. While I cry a little every time he goes, a sappy slow song would make me cry more.

I like the “home is wherever I’m with you” sign but my husband says we should get the “a girl without freckles is like a night without stars” one since I’m 24 and still have freckles on my cheeks and nose. I remember my mom telling me that they usually go away when you get older, but mine are still here. Haha.
