Guys, I am ready for spring. Most of the time I love the winter months but this year I am ready for spring to come. I’m just so ready for sunny days, green grass, & warmth on my skin… among many other things. With little man, Cope, we’ve discovered there isn’t much you can do outside with a one-year-old for long in the winter here in Michigan. So we are really excited for warmer weather to come! Therefore, we’ve started shifting our decor to spring. I honestly didn’t do a lot for winter past Christmas because I really wanted to get started having a lot of greenery in our house. Today I decided to bring some spring vibes into the house & I wanted to share this vintage spring vignette with you guys.

I set up this spring vignette in our living room but I think it would look great in an entryway, a hallway, a dining, & so many more spaces as well. Our living room is really long, so we have a lot of wall space to use in here so I decided to have fun with it here! For this vignette, I really wanted to incorporate some spring elements, a variety of textures, and some of my vintage finds.

I often get asked about mixing vintage items with new items. I wrote a whole blog post about the vintage & new equation which you can read [here]! What I really love about styling a vignette like this spring vignette is that you can mix in a lot more vintage items into one small little area among your new items as well of course. Cozy to me is mixing the old with the new.

To create a subtle greenhouse vibe with this vignette I added a few different textures. Two of my favorite springtime textures are greenery & windows. Anytime I mix those together it gives the greenhouse vibe which always reminds me of spring. Texture is also one of my favorite ways to add a cozy element to any space which I did with all of the items pictured here from the windows to the lamp to the greenery to the ottoman and beyond. All the different textures work together to make this space look it’s coziest.

Bonus Tip:

uncover your books. I love doing this for decorative purposes! I love the way this creates a cohesive color scheme with your books & adds a great texture to your vignette. Instead of getting rid of old books, taking the covers off of them gives them a new life and a neutral look with a ton of texture which is nice this is one way to repurpose them. Or you can find some at your local thrift store to recycle/repurpose!
