I could see this being a cozy little play area for Cope as he gets bigger…almost a little house under the stairs with a kitchen set, little table and chairs for arts and crafts and puzzles, dress up clothes, etc….his little fun Harry Potter spot under the stairs….

Beautiful as always!! I love the sign. I would love to know where you found the tall black candleholders!!! I am only finding.short ones or a set of small, medium, and large. Thanks!!!!

    Dear Liz,
Love all of your great ideas! you have inspired me to do a lot of redecorating this year. I was wondering where you got your rug and the leaves in your nook under the stairs. You are very good and sharing sources for a lot of your items. It would be helpful if you could share all the items that you have used in your look, except antiques. Keep inspiring us with all of your wonderful decorating!

God Bless you and your family!

Kari, I was thinking the exact same thing! There is something about a little hidey hole type of space that children love. What a wonderful place to read, play or take a nap.

Hi Liz, I just wanted to let you know if I could imagine the perfect, cozy place to spend a chilly Autumn afternoon, wrapped in a beautiful shawl, drinking a delicious cup of coffee, just relaxing…this space would be “my perfect, cozy place”. Thanks for the delightful daydream.

  10. Susan Jeffries says:

That’s the first thing I thought of too. Perfect spot.I couldn’t have described it better.

  11. Wow! I’m so smitten with this! Both are beautiful, but I like the sign under the stairs the best. I figured out one reason why this is so captivating is the color of orange that you used. We used to call it burnt orange- I don’t know what they’ve been calling it lately. I think I heard it called cinnamon but to me that would be darker brown. Anyway it’s just so gorgeous. Thank you for sharing it!

I love your nice cozy spot just for you, there’s always another space for Cope’s cars, trucks and tractors, oh yeah i can’t forget footballs, balls to kick, anyway balls. I had two sons the two grandsons and finally a granddaughter, so i know boys. It is nice for you to have a place all your own.

Gorgeous!! Love that bench and picture and everything, what a cozy place to spend time in!!!! The one thing that I am completely obsessed with is those branches!!!! I have searched everywhere for them and came up empty, I even thought about buying some that had really great stems, but not so great foliage, stripping off the foliage and making my own out of crinkled up butcher paper, maybe staining some and modge podgeing others, can you tell me where I can find them, I know you said you had them at your shop, but I live in southern cal. Found some similar at Micheal’s, but of course they are out of stock. Thank you for your blog, I love reading it and seeing all your creativity! And your book as well, it’s on my coffee table!

  14. Gretchen says:

I love your reading nook and it’s even big enough for a nap. Did you make the mattress pad yourself.
I’ve read your new book, cover to cover. Love it. I now have it in my guest room for friends to browse and get inspired.
    Thank you
