Today I wanted to share a trick of you may know, but if you don’t know this… YOU MUST!! I get asked a lot about floral arranging or how I arrange florals from our garden or even our faux arrangements we have around the house. I have the secret to making floral arranging fool proof & so easy that anyone can do it. The secret? Floral frogs! Ok.. it’s an old secret that dates back to the 16th century, but I don’t think they get enough credit & they are being produced in all new ways now & allowing us novice floral arrangers an easy way to make beautiful arrangements for our homes. I found a new and updated floral frog this week to add to my collection of vintage ones & this is one that you guys can buy as well to try this floral arranging trick with so I had to share…

Floral frogs can be made of glass, metal, lead, & more materials in different styles that sit on the bottom of vases to hold stems in place to make floral arranging super simple & sturdy. They are sometimes spiky and some have holes in them & work great for different kinds of stems. This floral frog vase that I got from Target has the frog at the top of the vase which is unique & fun, but here is a little glimpse at some other floral frogs that you can find at floral shops, flea markets, antique shops, & so much more…

I’ve been collecting many types of floral frogs for years, but recently picked up this new floral frog vase from Target [HERE] that I’m obsessed with so I wanted to show you the power of floral frogs with it since it’s so accessible to all of us so we can make easy peasy floral arrangements together. Here is what the frog floral vase looks like before the arranging…

I took some faux floral stems and in about 10 minutes I created two arrangements for our house with two of these frogger vases….

As far as the arranging in the holes of the floral frog goes I just go with the vibe I’m wanting which in this case for both of them was a fresh picked farm vibe so I mixed in equal parts long and unruly stems with some more structured ones. There is no correct way, but the best part is that if you are not happy with it in the end you can keep arranging as you see fit because the stems just slide easily in and out of the holes. To spice it all up even when I use faux florals I add water to the bottom of the vase to make it look more realistic.
