Spring is so very close. The time has changed here in Michigan, which means longer days, a little bit more of sunshine, and the temperatures are slowly (very slowly) creeping up away from freezing. All this said, it really inspires me to continue to bring spring into more spaces in our home. Recently we just started playing around in our sunroom/dining room with these new lovely pieces like the light, chairs, & table from Arhaus that I’m obsessed with. This table from Arhaus was made to look like an antique and I couldn’t wait to play around with a tables cape on it. Today is about that spring look, but I’ll be back soon to talk more about the design of the room…

I love interior design so much and love mixing things up around the house almost daily, so I design spaces knowing its probably for the short term if I’m being honest with myself. I take that further and try to do gradual designs, from simple touches of seasonal decor to vignettes that are more complex. Again, I enjoy this so very much, but also I try to share these spaces to inspire your next space… because I just love how a cozy space makes me feel, and want you to feel the same! Basically I change things up daily to hopefully inspire you to design your spaces so you don’t have to.

So for today’s new spring space is a Simple Early Spring Tablescape. An array that’s usually a revolving canvas in our home, I want to show you a very simple way to welcome the next season, while not making it look too staged. I pulled three antique glass jars together and placed faux stems in the center of the table. Stems, especially those from Pottery Barn, can be so very costly, so this simple look, only requires one stem in each of the jars. The fun little touch I like to add to the design is put a little bit of water in the jars, yes, to water the faux stems. That added element I think takes the look from staged retail vignette, to a lived in farmhouse style dining room. You could walk away at this point, and have a perfectly styled spring table, but by adding a little texture with stacked plates and bowls, and a desert tray really adds depth to the overall design.

For our family right now, this is still a very functional tablescape. We pull from the table any plates or bowls we may need, and once they are washed we put them right back. The three jars on their own are enough though & make the perfect spring statement. The best part? If you don’t change your decor as much as I do you can just switch out the stem every season like a pine branch in winter, orange blossoms in summer, & maple leaves in the fall.. super simple to create a seasonal tablescape! And just like that you have a welcoming space for the incoming spring season. I hope you enjoyed this simple take, and are excited to start styling for Spring like I am.
