As the seasons come and go, so do the spaces. If you have visited the blog over the past few years you know how much I love re-designing our entryway wall. It’s one of those vignettes in our home that I always look forward to showcasing a new piece of furniture or collections that we have.
This entryway vignette reset is was inspired by a little collection that I have. For quite some time now I have been obsessed with military panoramic photos & have collected a few on my flea market adventures. I cannot remember when I started my collection of these, but I have displayed them in various areas of our house over the years. One of my favorite memories with the panaramic’s is with my father-in-law who is a big history and car buff. When we had Jose’s family over the day before thanksgiving, he was fascinated one of the panoramics. He sat staring at each one for hours which was so adorable & made me laugh at how cute it was. He started googling the location, determined the types and of vehicles in the photos, what that unit did during the timeframe of the photo, it went beyond a conversation piece. As inspiration I decided to bring those into the front of our house, to add to that little bit of intrigue to those who appreciate our military and its history.
Balancing out a gallery wall is always a fun challenge, but doing it on a staircase wall makes it just that much more interesting. We wanted to really accent the size of some of our panoramic photos length, and create an ascending design to one of the smaller photos we have in our collection. Still looking a little bare and empty in some space, we filled the voids with other little decor collectibles that fit along with the frames and color tone of the paper or print.
All in all, it was a fun and easy project to accent our entryway. I hope you enjoyed our new styled space that will take us into the next season, and I hope it inspires you to start a collection of your own. It’s a very different way to all the regulary all over seen gallery walls but a rather wonderful one. I like the way you hung the frames it’s such a clear and “tidy” arrangement. Maybe on tiny little frame on the top of it..
In my mind it’s a gallery wall of honor for all those brave men of old.
This is by far, my favorite arrangement on your stair wall. I have always been fascinated by large panoramic group photos. As an antique dealer, I have sold many in my time. I personally collect old sepia toned class photos from before 1930. Your creativity is always an inspiration.
This without doubt the best gallery wall I’ve ever seen. My grandfather, father, and brother, and most uncles all served spanning the Spanish American War, WWII, Korea, through Vietnam. I love the subject and the symmetry!

Love the wall! I have a photo of my great grandfathers military photo just like these! However it was never framed! Did all your photos come with the frames? Where can I purchase one for my treasured photo?
