In this season on the farm, where snow comes and goes, we have to make a few extra trips to Tractor Supply Co. to keep our little farm ticking along during the winter weather. With the grass bare in the pasture, we supplement with some local hay, but we still need to add the much needed mineral blocks, medicine; oh and chicken feed for our little Guinea hen.

On one of our last visits, some super cute Christmas Decor caught my eye! I think I find something extra every time I go there for sheep food from magazines to decor to items for a DIY project. I cannot tell you how much I think you should consider taking a look at TSC to check out their seasonal decor… I too first think of TSC when we need something for the sheep or the barn… but their seasonal decor is cute & I have been taking a glance at that section when we pop in there.

So a little experiment I took on a few days ago… that turned out great (normally doesn’t)! I swapped out our temporary mantel that was located in our front room, and moved it into a transitioning space between our Dining room/kitchen and our office. This space is tough for me, because it has a lowered bulkhead and transitional wall faces where the sunroom addition was put on, in short it creates a tough space to decorate. When we were moving the old mantel out, I leaned it again this space, and it struck me… This may work here! Let the experiment begin. I centered and attached it to the wall, with the right amount of foliage across the top and a focus point above it, it quickly normalized the awkwardness that is that space.

After I had the mantel in place, and my vintage mirror hanging. I add live greens to the top of the mantel. Used the backing of an old bead board sign we had, and displayed the front with some of our favorite stacked trunks. Oh, and I sprinkled some of those vintage inspired bottle trees in there because I mean.. look how cute they are! We established the mantel into the room, but here is where we needed to add those pops of holiday decor. Key the Tractor Supply Co. goodies and here are the items I found!

I loved the Red Shed Metal Mailbox because I thought it naturally tied into the vintage letters I have been collecting over the summer. I displayed them in my simple Christmas Tablescape… The just ooze classic Americana Christmas too me, so I wanted to get a metal mailbox to bring it all together.

I love me some trays. This Frosty’s Snow Clearing tray was the perfect amount of whitewash to balance out the wood tones below, while contrasting the vintage creamy white of the mantel. I love using trays because you can make them rest so very well on uneven surfaces like that of a garland, and it creates a flat surface the items inside.

Lastly the Galvanized basket! This was a great way to add a little more depth and texture into the the space. During Christmas time, I love having baskets like that that can showcase birch logs  or pine stems while also showing them inside the bucket.
