I’m so excited about today’s post because it’s about one of my favorite discoveries ever. I’ve told you about it before, but I’ll give you the shortened version… one day while I was surfing on the internet for non-basic slipcovers I found Bemz, which is a company that makes slipcovers for all Ikea furniture in hundreds of fabrics from linen to velvets and every pattern & color in between.

We have used Bemz before for other Ikea furniture pieces in the past & each time I’m obsessed with them & they completely customize our Ikea furniture to our signature style. They really are the perfect farmhouse slipcovers that fit any decor and style. So you know I had to share them with you today! Well, they sure came to the rescue a few months ago when I received a not so pretty sofa & I was worried there was no fixing it…

A Slipcover Problem

Yup, I ordered the Farlov sofa & I was so excited for it to arrive… well, imagine when I opened it up and noticed the slipcovers looked nothing like the farmhouse slipcovers I was looking for online when I was ordering. I know, I should have just made the drive to test out the fabric, but the drive is so long & your girl got lazy.

Sooo here I was with this sofa that I hated the fabric on & as Jose put it together I didn’t dare tell him that it just wasn’t going to work. I’m so sorry and don’t mean to offend anyone who loves the fabric on the Farlov, but to me it looked like it was made out of recycled basketball shorts… I’m sorry! That’s what it reminds me of so I just couldn’t do it.

Bemz To The Rescue

That’s when I remembered my friends at Bemz…you bet your booty I flew on to the website & picked out the Simply Linen cottage white slipcover for the farlov & ordered it that night. I know… white? With dogs? On a farm? You know it! I’m forever a lover of white fabric because it can be bleached. I will do a full post on how I clean our white linens soon because I think I’m becoming a pro with all these animals! But I also have to add that in my experience the Bemz slipcovers hold up 10x better than the original Ikea slipcovers & they wash a whole lot better as well. I’m just thankful that Bemz saved me the trouble of returning a sofa or hating it…. also, if you change your mind in a few years about what color sofa you want, Bemz has got your back like they had mine. Ok.. actually they probably don’t care about my sofa slipcover mixup, but hey… maybe they do because their customer service has been great as well when I’ve had questions. Ya’ll know I can’t stop talking about things when I love them… so, here I am again. I’m loving our sofa now!!

The Plan

This sofa is sitting here in our house right now in the front living room, but I have an extra special spot I want it in soon.. can’t wait to show you! I’m creating a cozy little spot in our house that I never thought of until last week. More on that later. I think I probably get asked at least 5 times a day where we get our slipcovers from & some are from Bemz & we love them.. so that’s a good source to keep in your back pocket if you ever need a slipcover because you order an ugly sofa… haha I kid!!
