Where’s the office?
You guys! I have been hinting at it for a while now & a lot of you have been asking what we use for an office now because I haven’t shown you our last office in quite a while. Well, I’m ready to spill the beans today! We are doing a little office makeover & we are turning our formal dining room into our office! The transformation honestly just started really today, I mean we had started using it as an office a few weeks ago & we emptied it out, but today the first “big thing” happened in the space to make it our office & I’m sharing a sneak peek of that today with you guys…
The Bookcases
We got built bookcases in the dining room which is instantly making this space feel very office-y already! We had a very talented builder custom make the bookcases & cupboards to fit our home which is not an easy task at all. He custom made the built-ins in his workshop & today he delivered them & installed them all. I was on the edge of my seat watching them go in because I knew they were going to completely transform the space. He did such a beautiful job and even made it fit our slanted floors and re-used our trim to frame in the front of the bookcases. Basically he’s super talented & we are lucky to have him work in our home. We still have to add hardware & another special surprise to the built ins, we have to add the door to the laundry room that will look built in as well, & we have to caulk and paint the trim, but you get the idea of what it’s going to look like… amazing!
I can’t wait to start styling this area of the office & share more progress with you asap. We have been making so many big changes to the house; it means everything when you guys get excited with me… THANK YOU for sharing in our excitement & also for stopping by the blog daily to see what we are up to! Absolutely gorgeous! If one day you decide to turn it back into a dining room just look at the ton of storage you have in those stunning built-in’s.I know I could display so many dishes and collectibles on those shelves. Can’t wait to see how you stylize it!?

The built ins look great, but can I ask why you are giving up your formal dining room to make it an office in the middle of your home? I know I’m a messy person, so curious as to why you’d put your workspace on full display?

When you use white paint, what sealer do you use? I always have issues with poly yellowing the white paint, even water-based poly. Thanks!
