1. Tanja says:

I wouldn’t paint the windows the black of it gives them that unique look which correspondent excactly with the black front door and of course with all the other black element spots of the dining room.
Actually the dining room looks more aery and cozy with the windows now. Gorgeous antique babies!!
I really love your home it’s such a picturesque idyll xxxx

  2. Tamara Lack says:

Beautiful! I wouldn’t change a thing, those are some of the most awesome windows I’ve ever seen.

  3. Marilyn says:

I love those windows and I wouldn’t paint them, but I love that color of green. Those are the neatest windows I have ever seen! What a find and I love where you put them!

  4. Kim says:

I love them! Please don’t paint them!! (You asked, so I’ve given my opinion, but of course they’re yours to do with what you want) . But again…. please don’t paint them! Haha

  5. Karen says:

The windows are authentic! Please don’t paint. They look perfect! Cutting out the walls to see through to the other room would be cool.

  6. Gail says:

Omg. I think I just peed myself.. amazing!

  7. Anne says:

They look perfect as they are. Great score!.

  8. Linda F says:

Amazingly beautiful! Don’t change a thing

  9. renee says:

they look awesome were they are and the color they are!! wouldn’t change a thing!

  10. Linda F says:

Amazingly beautiful! Don’t change a thing.

  11. Claudia says:

They are so striking! Love them. I’d leave them as is – the graphic quality is stunning.

  12. Sandy says:

What a score! You really lucked out here Liz! Those are the most spectacular windows I’ve ever seen. Those are authentic windows and if you’re concerned about their resale value then don’t paint them. If that isn’t an issue for you,and if you’re like me it wouldn’t be, then paint.I really love the way they look now and think they are perfection! If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!?

  13. Linda says:

Please don’t paint them! They’re beautiful as is!!!

  14. Amy says:

The windows are astonishing, compelling and dazzling as is.
Painting them would border on irreverence and would detract from their appeal.
If the possibility of the paint containing lead is a concern, use a high quality sealant on the windows.

  15. Debbie says:

Liz please don’t paint these windows. I love the black and white. Taking out the cabinets makes the room more open. You have plenty of rooms to add cabinets. Even those you haven’t touched yet!
I wish I found those windows. Although I did happen upon 5 sets of long really old French windows with their original hardware and three sets of French doors out and about with my daughter last Saturday! Not sure if I will use any of them but someone will need them.
    Blessing. Love it all!

  16. Judie says:

I would have grabbed those windows in a flash!!! Awesome find! Please keep the original! Love the splash of color~ ??

  17. joanne Kingsbury says:

OMGosh.. they are soo cool and I love them. I think like everybody else “Don’t Paint” Wow what a score!!
    Love Love your home..

  18. Oh Liz the windows are perfect. Leave them just the way they are. So beautiful. I wish you had those for sale in the shop. We are headed there next week. I cannot wait to visit the shop. I think you said once where you got the White Cottage Farm sign but could you tell me again. I am looking for something like that for my cottage. Love love the new old windows.
    Swooning!!!!
    Kris

  19. Renee says:

Those are “the coolest antique windows ever”! Please don’t paint them. They really are perfect in their found condition. Love your home and blog.

  20. Diana says:

Beautiful just the way they are, perfect for that space!

  21. Deb Pelton says:

I LOVE the green! Plays well off of the plants and other greenery. Did you know that green is the easiest color for the eye to see and therefore the most soothing? The windows are perfect whatever you dddv idea to do.

  22. Joan says:

Once you paint them their authenticity is gone. Better to leave them alone because they look fantastic.

  23. Sandy says:

I absolutely love the windows the color that they are and in the spot they are in. They look great whether you keep them hanging as is or cut a hole and place them in so you can see into the next room. I’m in love with this whole room and yes, putting the windows here really opened up the space a lot!

  24. Cheryl says:

I absolutely love the windows! ?. And I adore the idea of actually putting them into the wall looking into the other room…just so awesome!!

  25. Debbie moors says:

Those are the prettiest windows I’ve ever seen! I totally understand why you had to have them! They look awesome hanging there !

  26. Diane says:

I love the whole look…just the way it is…you certainly have an eye for design. Thanks so much for sharing your gifts!

  27. Sharon says:

Love the windows and they look amazing in the room! Perfection! My only question is, are there anymore at the store for sale?

  28. Tiffany says:

I love all of your creative ideas and finds Liz! My only concern with those windows is do you know if they have been painted with lead paint? That would be my only worry in doing anything with them. I am as indecisive as they come so I don’t know if they should be painted :-)) A matte forest green color would be super pretty in there I think if you painted it. Otherwise, I love the color it is!!!

  29. BreAnn says:

I love these windows! Truly a rare and unique find! I wouldn’t paint them at all! There are just some antique pieces that are stunning as they are and these fall in that category! They look amazing in your home!

  30. Tina says:

    I love the windows
    They look beautiful
Your home is amazing and one day I hope to visit your shop. Thanks for sharing you home and life with us all

  31. Carla says:

SCORE! The windows are Amazing! Love how they look in the dinning room!
I agree with all above comments… leaving them alone so the shine ‘just as they are.’ They are such statement pieces. Enjoy!

  32. Christine says:

They are really gorgeous, just the way they are. If anything, you could install a mirror to fit behind them. That would be cool.
    I wouldn’t paint them!

  33. Laurel says:

Liz those windows are fabulous and made for that space?now we need you to find a company that will reproduce them for your followers ?

  34. Elain says:

I love everything about your farm. I enjoy watching you transform everything. HOWEVER..all of the black in the dining area is kind of making it seem more industrial. A lot of hard lines. Just my opinion though ?.

  35. Meryl says:

The green works with all the real green you have sprinkled throughout the room with plants and botanical prints. Please don’t paint them! I love how it opens up the room…like an open window with fresh air! Trompe L’oeil I guess:)

  36. Stephanie says:

I LOVE this!!! That room, only in my opinion of course, was too full before. This totally changed everything! LOVE LOVE LOVE! And everyone is saying don’t paint… I would paint them!

  37. Julia says:

I wouldn’t paint the window frame. They look incredible just as they are, with chippy paint. If you paint them, it will be all about the frame. If you don’t, it will be all about the view.
So if it’s all about the view, put plants on the other side of the window. Then you’ll have your green AND mystery too. Plants outside the window! In the house!

  38. Suzanne Reid says:

Liz I was always changing things up. My daughter would tell me I was never satisfied. But that was never it. I have always had a creative mind and I just wanted to keep doing more. Some people don’t understand that. I want to thank you SO MUCH because you have no idea how much you have inspired me. I adore your home! You and all the other IGer’s are amazing!

  39. Penny says:

Along with everything else, I LOVE the chairs! What style or name are they? I would love to find some.

  40. Nancy says:

I would NOT paint the windows as they look perfect just the way they are.
