You guys, I said it the other day, but how is it only 10 days until Christmas?! Like is anyone else as shocked as me? I was more shocked when I realized I hadn’t shown all of our Christmas decor yet. If you don’t know… we actually have only touched 20% of our home with our renovations so far… we have so many rooms we haven’t even shared yet, but the parts that we did start renovating we did decorate for the holidays. I’ve loved sharing our holiday home tour so far this year & today we are stopping by our farmhouse Christmas stoop. It’s kind of funny because this is one area we haven’t done anything to really. We plan on replacing the door & doing a few other things to this spot, for now it looks like this & we added some Christmas decor to share with you here on the blog today…
Now of course that sled isn’t always there.. hello tripping hazard, but I had a vision for this area today. You know when you were a kid and you came in from a long afternoon of sledding & you threw your sleds by the back door & ran inside for some hot cocoa? Yah, that. Those were the best days. The classic, youthful, innocent, best Christmas days that we all loved & cherished. The two sleds & the skis remind me of heading to a friends & all leaving our things outside in the cold as we went in to warm up before heading back out. The good old days. The buckets are from our shop as well as that Christmas tree in that bucket. The sleds, chair, & those skis are all antique finds. & that wreath? just some greenery hanging on a nail… super easy & a rustic way to add an alternative wreath to a door.
After this little photoshoot out back I propped that little sled up against those buckets & it’s cute as a button there. There is just something about vintage sleds in the winter that I love so much. I use these little guys every single year in different ways & they make me so happy.
Just a simple little back stoop of ours but it turns magical at Christmas with a fresh blanket of snow. I hope you guys liked this little peak at our Farmhouse back stoop. Love the simplicity of the back stoop. Just looks and feels like Christmas. I love the character and look of the door. It’s really beautiful. Keep up the good work on the House. We have just finished renovating our 1898 Victorian cottage. Love all the personality in old homes. My advice to you would be don’t replace everything on and in the house with new things. Keep all the old that still works. It’s better made and more beautiful than anything mass produced in factories. You just can’t buy that look nowadays. Simple is always better. To u and yours have a wonderful Merry Christmas and enjoy every minute of it.
Your porch looks fabulous. You never disappoint in your decor. Love love love it all. I really wanted to drive from Chicago to the shop before the holidays were over. Not sure if I can do that but I know the shop must be filled with great decor and pretty treasures. Have a wonderful Friday and great weekend.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful Christmas tree decorating idea. A properly decorated tree makes the whole affair more lively. Most of the times we don’t put that much effort into decorating a Christmas tree. But after reading this post I got a lot of info on how to make a christmas tree more appealing. Hi, I love this look, too! Wish we would have some snow, but we do sometimes and keep hoping!
I have used my mom’s vintage 30’s sled indoors for years decorating it simply with her knit-vintage mittens and a bow or so. IT’s ideal outside since no direct rain/snow can get onto it for the next couple of weeks, so I may try it outside on our own covered porch, along with the tin-containers I have already started placing cuttings from our farm’s shrubs and trees inside… we have cool stuff, from years of this homestead, and of course, everyone is always welcome here to come get some! I like to share, and it helps me, as well! I am sure most know they can do this as well by asking their neighbors and friends, love Magnolia, cedar, pine, holly and even Leland pines I have read are great! All of these will last 2 weeks even indoors, so doing it late is not a bad idea, and outdoors they last same 2 or so weeks in garlands and wreaths!
