ummm this weekend was only a “DIY weekend” if taking naps is considered DIY. Ya’ll that BHG week last week completely wiped me out. Like completely. I don’t know if you know this about me, but I am a completely introverted so being around people exhausts me. I am so jealous of people who get recharged by social situations. But I don’t. The shoot last week was amazing, but it was 5 days of people in our home, & lots of new things & a whole lot of work so come Friday night this lady was tired. Usually on the weekends we are pretty productive here on the farm & it’s when a lot of the DIY projects, home renovations, & farm work gets done. This weekend? That was a big nope. I had ambitions of getting these house all put together after the photoshoot, but I only had a few areas put back together by Monday morning & that’s ok because rest and family time was way more important…

A lot of you were wondering why our house got turned upside down so much for the photoshoot. Well, there is a simple answer to that. BHG obviously wanted to come to the farm because they liked our home, but they used the “bones” of what we had and wanted to add something fresh & new just for their publication so that it could be exclusive to the magazine. Makes sense & I’m so glad they did because I learned so so so much & I loved watching the whole process. They basically moved room to room each day & setup the shots & edited the decor and spaces in each space. After each room was shot & done we basically ripped up the whole space so that’s why we are left with a lot to put back now & a lot to pick up. Furniture was moved, tons of boxes of decor were left, & nothing is were it started. But guess what? I’m actually so happy about it because it allows me to get a fresh start in our decor… oh & of course happy for the experience itself. So thankful! I had the honor of having amazing people here & I couldn’t have had a better experience.

So, basically after they all left on Friday night the rest of the weekend where I wasn’t napping & spending time with my wonderful family I was just cleaning up some spaces which mainly included the porch areas. This week I will be spending time putting the interior of the house back together & cleaning it up just in time to start decorating for Christmas soon.. I know. Let’s not talk about it right now, but it’s coming soon! I like to start early so that I can hopefully offer inspiration before the masses start decorating if that makes sense.
