You guys!! Every day we get so many messages & comments about our wonderful Grace & how much joy she brings people. I can’t even handle how much love you have shown her & us as we navigate this new journey here on White Cottage Farm. I mean, there are people that are true fans of Grace and probably like her way more than me & I’m perfectly content with that because she is pretty much my favorite. She lights up our days & makes us smile no matter what we are going through. I thought I would stop in here & share some facts this week about Grace. I shared some answers to your FAQ’s about her [Here] before that were more in depth about our little lamb, but here is what is going on this week:

1. Sadly Grace isn’t really coming in the house  A whole lot these days like she used to. She has grown out of her diapers and when she does have the diaper on she has figured out how to take it off and that is never good when you have a un-potty trained sheep in your house. She still comes in for short little visits, but it’s exhausting trying to wrangle her and worrying about sheep turds.

2. Grace is starting to wean herself from the bottle.  It’s actually really sad for me because I love bottlefeeding her and having that time with her, but at the same time I’m so glad she’s healthy and starting to become an adult as well. She still takes a bottle every day with about 2-3 feedings, but doesn’t seem as excited about it.  I’m also thankful that the weaning process might  be easier than I thought. More updates on the weaning to come!

3. Grace is 7 weeks old this week & we estimate her weight to be 25-30 pounds now. I used to be able to lift her up with ease, but it’s not as easy now with her weight and her strength. I’ve been head butted more than I would like to say.  She is getting so big quickly! She will probably weigh around 150 pounds when she is full grown.

4.  She gave us quite a scare on Monday because she wouldn’t take a bottle in the morning and wasn’t eating at all. She is excited about a bottle in the morning and her abruptly not wanting it was alarming. Lambs are pretty susceptible to diseases and other scary things so we called the vet and they gave us some advice but she still wasn’t eating.  Around midday Jose tried feeding her a bottle and she refused it again and because he’s a genius he thought to change out the nipple on the bottle and sure enough she took the bottle after that.  We think that something got on the nipple that she wasn’t liking like some kind of smell but we were also so thankful that she started eating in that she wasn’t sick.

5. She runs so fast now! We can hardly catch her which is pretty scary when she is out of the barn. She chases the cats & it’s so funny to watch, but when the cats start running away and so does Grace it gets a little unpredictable & scary. Watching her run is so funny & I really try to catch it on my Instagram stories, but she is so quick it’s hard. You all need to see witness it at least once!

Thank you guys so so so much for caring about Grace & for just always being so kind and gracious to Jose and I. Life here on the farm is far from perfect just like us, but it’s a beautiful life & we love sharing it with you guys.
