As many of you know this past weekend we brought a little baby sheep to our farm. She requires a lot of attention & bottle feeding which has been welcomed, but none the less pretty time consuming. That being said projects & work at the farm was basically non existent this past weekend, but we did manage to start one little DIY project in our entryway that I thought I would share with you guys the progress we made on it because I’m quite proud that we did this with a diapered sheep at our feet. This table & it’s concept are super simple & also the drive behind it was also super simple. We needed a table here in our front entryway & it had to be slim because of the spacing in this area of the house. It’s as simple as that. So, when I saw these corbels in the shop I knew they would be perfect for an entryway table. So with a sheep at our feet & some items that we had lying around the house along with our new corbels.. we built a lovely little entryway table that is the perfect addition to our farmhouse. When I say it was simple to make by the way, I mean it is simple…

First we measured out where we wanted the corbels to be based on how tall we wanted the table top to be. We then drilled long screws at an angle through the corbels directly into the wall using our trusty Ryobi drill l on the top and the bottom of the corbels so that they were super secure onto the wall. After they were secure on the wall we added a board to the top that I found in our basement that happened to be the perfect size & look we were going for.. how perfect is that? It was meant to be! We screwed the board onto the corbels from the top. For this project I wasn’t concerned with exposed screws or perfection. It’s a rustic entryway table & we all know I’m not about the perfection life. Though I wish I was sometimes, this table turned out perfect for us…

I quickly styled it by keeping the cubby that was there up & layering it with a lead glass window that I had. On top of the cubby I put part of my antique clock collection that I love dearly. I styled the table with a few cloches that I had from World Market, some corbels from Magnolia, & a bus that I got from my friend Angie who sells at our shop. I feel like once I take a few minutes I’ll change this space up a little with the decor [maybe even put covers on those switches… why is that not done yet?] but for now it’s just fine like this & I’m so thrilled to finally have a table in this space to gather all the things. Oh, and that door? That’s leaving soon… but more on that later. I think some big changes will come to this front living room this year yet & I’m so excited for all of that progress in our farmhouse renovations, but for now I’m happy with these little additions to our farmhouse that we are slowly making.
