I said I would do these posts once in a while & here is another one for you! Jose and I stayed home most of the week which is all parts fabulous & tiring. We had a full weekend of projects that completely wore me out, but were needed. A lot of them aren’t “blog worthy” projects, but normal farm fixer upper things that needed to be done. Nothing is quite finished that we were working on, but like I say all the time.. it’s the progress that matters & man did we make some! We did do a few noteworthy things so I thought I would share them with you guys to keep you up to date as to what we are up to here in the farmhouse.

We hung this beautiful cabinet piece above our DIY corbel table in our front entryway. I had this cabinet for over a year now with no place to put it, but when I found it I knew that I had to have it because of how unique it was. I placed my antique clock collection in it, but don’t worry we will be adding more clocks to it very soon. I didn’t mind how this area looked before [HERE], but I think it needed one large piece and one that draws your eyes up. I will share more of this space when we add more to it & finish it up.. but I’m loving the changes so far! Oh, and I also added these antique white stools under the table as well which I think is a fun added feature. Not sure if they will stay, but I like the way they look.

We started our office! Yes, I haven’t shared here on the blog, but we are getting an office here at the farm. It’s actually where the downstairs guest bedroom was going to be, but after Mr. LMB suggested we make it an office instead, I’ve been all about it! The walls still need to be painted, lighting changed out, trim work done, decorating needs to happen, but the floors are painted [HERE], chairs [HERE] & the table are in & that’s a big move!  I will be sharing details, more progress, ideas, dreams about this office later this week, but this is where we spent most of weekend.

You guys know that I LOVE living in a fixer upper. I love having projects, I love being busy with things, & love making this house ours, BUT the mess kills me. The mess makes me feel a little disheveled & like I don’t have my life together. So, my goal this weekend was to tackle one area in the house & clean it up. In our back living room behind our Ikea sectional there is our large card catalog which I love, but in front of it we had paint cans, tools, trash, & just other fixer upper items that needed to be picked up and organized. I wanted to make the area pretty so I picked up all the items & moved two sofas that were upstairs in front of the card catalog. Everything I moved to this area were items that we already had lying around which is nice because in turned it cleaned up another area by moving the stuff here.. it’s a cycle. Basically I created a seating area in the back of the living room. We sat here and had our coffee here this morning before church & it was super cozy & a great place to chat. I think cleaning up and creating pretty spaces in our fixer upper is the one thing that is keeping me sane through this whole process. It’s my one big tip for those of you who are doing the whole fixer upper thing as well.

I moved this bench in to our living room. Actually Marian, Miss Mustard Seed, told me it’s a “hired hand” bench I believe is what she called it & basically they were used have your hired hand sleep on this while he was working for you… a grown man used to sleep on this bench! How crazy is that. I found this bench at our shop & I thought it might fit perfectly under this series of panoramic photos I hung, & by golly it did!! I want to get the mattress upholstered and do some more things to it, but Grace & I tested it out here for now.. & we give it four thumbs… I mean two thumbs & four hooves up!

Oh, and like the crazy sheep mom I am, I took a million photos of Grace. The rest of the weekend was spent getting a rid of a lot of garbage we have accumulated with all of these projects & renovations, getting the fence and barn ready for more sheep, mowing the grass, & just other odds and ends that needed to be done. We of course always make time for rest so you know a little of that was had as well, but this is basically our DIY weekend in a nutshell.
