Welcome to our home today! Today I am sharing our farmhouse front fall entryway with BirchLane. A huge thank you to them for working with me on this & for having me over there on their Instagram today [here].. I took over so come check it out. As many of you know our 1800’s farmhouse is under complete renovation right now & it’s been a challenge for someone like me to have ripped up floors & not be able to decorate the unfinished spaces. Don’t get me wrong, I love the renovation process and tearing things up to make things beautiful again, but I have been decorating every possible space that I can even when they aren’t finished just like our entryway.

A little fun fact about our 1800’s farmhouse is that it is set up to function as a bed & breakfast. I don’t know if that is what inspired me to style our front entryway to kind of give the vibe of an old hotel, but when you enter our farmhouse from the front door I wanted it to feel like you walked into  an old bed and breakfast cottage right in the middle of a farm…

A Coat Rack and Wreath

One thing I did to help create a cozy entryway amid the chaos is to lay rugs down over the unfinished floor. We plan to paint the floors in here in a few weeks & these rugs will look even better on the floors then, but for now they kind of hide our crazy.

I hung a numbered coat rack in our entryway with a few of my favorite things hanging from it like these mirrors, this blanket, & this lovely faux wreath. We have a closet for our coats just on the other side of this, but for when guests come over this will be handy. Just put your coats right over this stuff & there you go. Also, those mirrors are handy for checking to see how much paint is in your hair before you go out in public. From personal experience.

Add a Basket

Another thing I added in our entryway was this basket that doubles as a table. It’s so great to store out of season items like decor & outdoor items. There is also very little light in this space so the fact that I could add an extra lamp in here was a bonus for sure. It’s pretty much the cutest little side table that I ever did see.

Fall Elements and Textures

I went pretty simple in this space for fall. A few pumpkins & a “Give Thanks” pillow along with some other cozy elements & textures like this throw are all I needed to complete this space for fall & I think it’s quite perfect. With all the renovations and chaos throughout the house,  I didn’t want to over complicate the space and make it too crowded. The gallery wall I created is filled with all pieces I love & I will be blogging a closer look & more details on that very soon, but like I said before I wanted to give the entryway a historic hotel/lodge feel, & that was my inspiration.

Creating this cozy welcoming entryway has been so fun for me. I love the renovation progress, but I do love the decorating as well.
