The day has come! Honestly I should have done this sooner, but I have a big case of the “It’s not finished yet” blues. I think everyone gets that about their home. The thought that no room is ever done because there is always something on your to-do list. Well, I knocked myself out of that metality this past weekend & I will be doing a full “before & after tour” of our home in the next few weeks with the before photos I took 3 years ago. I thought it would be fun to post a before & after of each room & today we will start in the downstairs living room. If you remember, our house is a tri-level [really 4 levels with the basement] & this room is the lower level along side the guest bedroom, bathroom, & stairs to the basement. Here is how it looked today…

Here is a little glimpse of the room when we got the house…

& after…

& a little GIF of the before & after…

The major parts of this makeover were replacing the one window in the room with a slider door for more light & backyard access. We also added luxary vinyl planks on the floor & painted all the walls & trim in Behr Dove White. Like in every other room in our home, we added thick farmhouse style trim to the windows & doors to really make the house look like it has character. We also took down the drop tile ceiling & replaced it with tongue and groove planks. The decor was jus the cherry on top of the room. I used a World Market rug [here] & placed our Ikea Ektorp sectional at the back of the room. We used our chairs from Marshalls on each side of the slider door & our DIY coffee table [here] at the center of the room. Above the couch we hung our vintage find chalkboard stacked with eclectic frames & our DIY clock [here] on the other side. The trunk end tables & the vintage end table center piece can be found [here] & [here]. A few other things on the wall are some corbel lights from Painted Fox & a tobacco basket with art inside from Deann Art. On the tables are some found corbels, olive buckets, & other found items. The topiaries & greenery are also from Ikea. You can see where the grainsack pillows are from [here]. On the opposite side of the room are my found green books inside my found chicken nesting boxes. Our TV is covered by our DIY barn doors [here] & on each side is some magnolia wreaths from Decor Steals. The gallery wall on the stairs can be found [here] with all of the details.

Let’s look at the before one more time…
