Love your sink! I’ve had an apron sink for about 6 years…..only it’s stainless steel and we love it! It adds some style to the kitchen decor and although the surface is stainless, it’s very easy to keep clean. We found ours for less than $400 on line. The bowl has curved corners, so we don’t have a cleaning issue. I think apron sinks up the value of a kitchen, and so worth the investment.

  2. Laura says:

Okay this might be a silly question but I always wonder when you feature your kitchen… How do you get by without having cabinet hardware?!

  3. Stephanie says:

Thanks for the review. A farmhouse sink is on my wish list, but I’ve wondered if I’d miss two basins. I’m glad to hear you don’t. I’m pinning your recommendation for when the time comes.

  4. Brittney Bordenkircher says:

I love your kitchen. Where did you purchase you cabinets from. I love the smaller options you have to fit the space you are working with.

  5. Kim says:

Right now I have a seamless sink with the counter top. I notice with the farmhouse sink it is not. I am scared that it will get all gross, has anyone seen a seamless one? Also do you use a plastic bin when you do need a segregated sink?

  6. Peg says:

What view! I mean, the useful information was endless!

  7. Peg says:

Sorry about that typo, lets try this again

What a review! The useful information was endless!

  8. Rebecca says:

I’ve never seen a seamless apron front sink, but the only time you would need to worry about the edges of any drop counter sink is if you never ever ever clean! I have the drop counter stainless steel apron sink with the seam between the sink and the granite countertop sealed with a clear silicone. Easy to clean, and really doesn’t get any accumulated dirt / food, etc. You shouldn’t have a problem with it getting gross. Oh, and I love the single bowl…..the size is large enough to hold a plastic wash basin if you feel the need. Good luck!

  9. Dixie Lee says:

I recently moved from a house with a large deep sink to one with a double sink. I’ll take the large single model any time. The new one is white, and harder to keep clean than the old stainless. One definitely needs a hose to easily keep a sink clean – recently spent two weeks in a rental with a double white sink and no hose and it almost drove me mad!

Where did you get the tin container for your soap & lotions for your kitchen sink? It is so cute!

  11. Jeanne says:

I have a Kohler Whitehaven cast iron apron front sink sitting in my living room waiting to be installed with new counters next month, The Whitehaven has two versions, one is called the “short apron”, which I have, and can be installed on a standard sink base with a few modification that do not affect the cabinet doors. It was a little pricy at $960 for 36″ sink base, but I did not have to buy a new cabinet, so saved on that and the labor involved in changing out the cabinet. I also like the way the apron hangs over the doors, protecting them from drips. I am going from 2 bowls to one and that will be a change, but I think I will like it. There is a 2 bowl Whitehaven but it is more of a 1/3 and 2/3 split and not 50/50. I thought about the fireclay, but love my current cast iron sink. It is 18 years old and looks great – and I can be a klutz and this new sink needs to last decades.

  12. […] up, you could always find plants on the window sill above the kitchen sink in my parents house. It’s easily the best place to keep live plants […]

Nice article. I’m in the middle of a kitchen reno, and have opted for a corner shaped double sink from FRANKE (STX 621 model).. Space saving!

  23. Rachel Brewer says:

My stainless one was installed as seamless/under mount. It’s amazing!

  24. Linda Habrukovich says:

We are planning a kitchen Reno and I must have a white farmhouse sink. My designer is trying to talk me out of it because he says we will lose height under the sink for full size cleaning products. Is that true?
