I’m back with another post to show you how awesome white spray paint is. It can take something that doesn’t fit in with your decor & make it look like something that was made for your home. & in this case it can take something that is awesome & make it even more awesome. I was shopping at World Market the other day for a few things for a Thanksgiving tables cape & I spotted this large wonderful turkey. I had to get him for my centerpiece. After getting him home & placing him on our table, I had a crazy idea to make the turkey more “Liz Marie” if you know what I mean…
Yah. That big white turkey? That’s the one I’m talking about, but all of these lovely turkeys were also found at World Market. I will be blogging this entire tablescape next week so stay tuned for all of that. But I did want to talk about this turkey beforehand because let’s face it, he is the start of the show. Here is what he was looking like when I picked him up from World Market before I went all Liz Marie on his tail feathers..
Seriously adorable either way in my opinion, but for this Thanksgiving table I wanted that pop of white & also wanted the large turkey to have less visual weight in this small room. For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, the lighter color something is the less visual weight the item has. Basically in a small room having lighter colored items, glass items, mirrors, etc makes the room seem larger. We all know that I love a room full of goodies & large scale items so I use the neutral colors [white in this case] in my favor. Ok, it’s late & I hope that all made sense. Who knew that much thought went into a turkey? Maybe it’s just me. Here is the little guy after I used my trusty spray paint…
The spray paint that I used? I tried out the Rustoleum Matte & I’m pretty happy with it. I recently blogged about my neutral pumpkin makeover [here] where I tried the Krylon chalky spray paint which I like a whole lot more. This Rustoleum Matte spray paint was supposed to be matt, but it’s not matte enough for my liking. So if you are looking for a super matte look I would go with the Krylon chalky paint one. But that being said this spray paint worked pretty good & did the job.
I can’t wait to share this entire neutral Thanksgiving decor table with you next week. It’s seriously one of my favorites ever & I truly hope you like it as well.
