…. Since you asked….. I wouldn’t paint the hardware at all. I think it looks great the natural way that it is and probably rough and used over the years, shows patina! But, you have amazing taste, and whatever you have planned will be perfect for you and your style!! ~Kim

Okay – at first I thought my favorite designer had lost her mind….and then I saw the photo and it looks great ! I am amazed at your ideas and this one is really good. I think I would go with the oil rubbed bronze for your home but the black would look okay too. I am not sure I would hang anything from it however, maybe some vines or something? Hanging things may close in the space too much and take away from your other beautiful items by dragging the viewer’s eyes up. I think you could but stuff on the ladder but not let things hang down…..the ceiling will look like it is too low? Just a thought….but I know what ever you do it will look great ! Enjoy the week !

can’t stop wont stop staring at the reupholstered chair. I LOVE it.

  6. Liz it does look super cute! Adds character to the space for sure! I actually hung a ladder in my long hallway just a few weeks ago! That hallway has given me grief since we moved into our home last year, trying to come up with a good design for it! Like you I was laying in bed visualizing and decided it needed a ladder! Since I didn’t have one just lying around, my hubby got creative and suggested using some old monkey bars we had from a previous play set! I painted them and hung it, and decorated it like a shelf! Love what it did for the space! You should check it out in my fall home tour link! Would love your thoughts!!
