There are a lot of ways to my heart that my husband knows. Cherry coke, bringing me coffee every morning, long car rides while singing our favorite songs, & surprising me with lovely things he builds. This past week we were talking about all the cool pieces of furniture that we used to see while living in the south & how much we missed it. Well, he was in the garage for a few hours & came back in with this lovely mini pie safe. It was such a random build & I would have never guessed that’s what he was going to build, but that’s what I like about the way he thinks. Here is the lovely DIY mini pie safe he made & that I styled…

I mean does it get any cuter? It just reminds me of the south & things that we used to find there. He was inspired by a few little mini pie safes like this one [here]. He said it was a pretty easy build, but I think my favorite part is the way he painted it. I love the Maison blanche chalk paint confederate gray with white wax combo. Good call Mr. LMB! Maybe this build was a subliminal message to me to bake more, but these pies are for sure store bought so I guess I didn’t get the message. But I have a few people in my life that needed a pie to make them smile so I delivered these pies to them when I was done photographing them. A pie delivery makes anyone smile. Sadly, mine would have to be gluten free. Just in case you ever wanted to bring a pie to me.

This piece is a little large in our kitchen, but honestly I think we could rock it, but this would look amazing in a larger kitchen. Also, it’s not just for pies but would look AMAZING styled with some pumpkins inside, plants, & other lovely pretty kitchen items. Oh, yah. I can explain that missing piece. Promise. My father in law stopped by & of course I couldn’t let him leave without some pie. So, there’s that.
