Hey guys! So, I found this vintage wooden toolbox a few weeks ago while out junkin’. I probably shared it on my Instagram when I got it, but from the moment I saw it I knew it had to be painted. Looking back on it I probably would have chosen another color than I did, but I’ve been obsessed with this spanish moss color lately & so there is that. Here is the vintage toolbox makeover, where it’s at in our house, & what I’m using ours for!

You know, a quick cell phone shot because I have no patience to grab my camera to take photos when I’m about to paint. Yup. Anyways, so I used Maison Blanche spanish moss as the base coat & then put maison blanche dark wax over top to seal it & give it more of a distressed look. This literally took me no time at all & gave a whole new life to this tool box. Inside the tool box I placed some metal containers I found in the dollar section at Target & filled them with craft supplies like colored pencils, chalk, stencils, & more. This would make a great table centerpiece, on a book shelf, in an office to hold you or your kids craft supplies for easy accessibility.

I always see these vintage tool boxes while out junkin, & I’m sure you can find them at a local antique store or market place as well. You could always make them too if you can’t find one & make it look old with paint techniques & the wood you use. These vintage tool boxes have so many possibilities, but this has to be one of my favorites because it helps keep the artsy person in me organized which is an accomplishment all in itself.

I photographed this little toolbox in a new-ish little nook in our home that I’m not sure if I will blog or not.
