You know those projects that you start & then two months later you see it lying there unfinished & you decided to finally complete it? Yah. So I started these DIY “nest signs” about two months ago & today I decided to finally complete them so I thought why not share them here on the blog. Oh & don’t think the signs were unfinished because they were difficult. No, these nest signs are the easiest thing in the world,it’s just my DIY ADD sets in & yah, things get pushed to the side. So on to this simple sign & how I made it. The best part? You can totally customize it to what you want it to say & these are literally made from wood scraps that were on my garage floor, I’ll count that as free…
To make these signs I gathered up some scrap plywood we had in our garage. I had Mr. LMB cut me 5 rectangles out of the plywood. One long one & 4 small ones that added up to the size of the long one. On the 4 small pieces of plywood I first pained them white & then used my stencils to put the individual letters on each one. This is where you can get creative. You could spell someones name, write your favorite word, I mean the list goes on. I then used a staple gun to adhere the pieces of plywood with the letters on it to the large piece of plywood. Make sense? If I had done this project all in one day then I might have had better photos. But you get the idea. The stencils are from Home Depot & the paint I used is all chalk paint from Maison Blanche.
These are things I come up with on rainy afternoons because I always have to be doing something & this nest sign was just a product of me wanting to try a new twist on making signs. I like them simple & cute & this one is just that.

I have got a lot of projects that I started and unfortunatelly never finished them. The longer you leave them behind the harder it is to come back to them.
