You know those projects that start like one thing, but turn into something else? This was one of those projects. My original thought was to make a coffee table out of old windows. So, good old Mr. LMB went out in the garage & tried to make that little crazy dream of mine a reality. He made basically a big box with the windows & attached chicken wire to the windows to fill in all of the holes where the glass used to be. Then he added wood to the bottom & the top of the “window box” he created to finish off the coffee table. He called me outside to see it & yah…. fail. Not on his part, but on mine. It was way to large to be a coffee table [tall & wide] but my brain started working again & I thought, why not stand it up & make it a bookshelf? Here is what it looked like after standing it up on it’s side, adding shelves, adding legs, & giving it a little pain to make it an antique window bookshelf…
I still can’t believe it’s made from old antique windows! I love how it’s deep & can fit some lovely collections like my mason jars, glass insulators, books, & more. The pillows & blanket are from H&M & that lovely floral arrangement is from Marshalls. & the lovely sign behind the bookshelf is from House of Belonging, my most favorite sign shop in the history of ever.

I decided to style the bookshelf with lots of collections. I got kind of an anthropology inspired vibe from the piece & that was my inspiration. Kind of a boutique styling with antique pieces & a few new pieces mixed in. I love all the textures mixed together in the piece & how the old wood & the chicken wire works together.
Ok, picture overload. Sorry I’m not sorry… I just love this piece. & even if no one else does, it’s so special to me because my best friend made it & I think he did an amazing job! I love seeing his thoughts come to life, like how he put the shelves in & what legs he chose. It’s fun seeing a piece of furniture that was a mixture of both of our ideas.
