A couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon a little green table. It was at some random garage sale & I kept seeing people walk by it. Is it weird to feel sorry for a table? Well, I felt bad for it & I thought it needed a good home. I loaded it up in the jeep with no plan of what I was going to do with it, but I knew I would find something to do with this lovely lonely green & wood table. When I got the table home I brought it into our house through the front door & set it there until I could decide what to do with it. Well, it was fate, after looking at it by the front door I decided it needed to stay there as an entryway table. The little leftover garage sale green table now has a beautiful purpose in our little cottage…

Oh, I hope you weren’t thinking we actually had a large entryway. Nope. This little cottage of ours has a coat closet to the right of the door when you walk in & this little wall to the left of the front door. We made this DIY rustic entryway coat rack [here] a few months back & now this table sits under it & has proven to be really handy. Under the table is our copper boot tray where we put our shoes along with putting the majority of our shoes in the coat closet. It fits so perfectly under this little table, again, it’s the perfect little table for the spot.

When I first saw this table I pictured it in a garden shed used as a potting table & wanted to give it that vibe in our home as well. So on the little wooden shelf running from the legs in the center I placed a bunch of old terra-cotta pots I had lying around & filled them with some faux succulents & plants that I had as well. I also picked up a couple cute boxwood plants at Michaels in the white pots. The garden rake was from the Target dollar section & I simply cut off the rubber handle to expose the natural wood handle underneath. The plants give our cottage entryway new life & I think this table was meant to have some greenery on it. Even faux greenery.

The coat rack was a DIY project [here] which is one of my favorite things in our house now. The frames on top are an assortment from Marshalls & Target. The wooden letters are also from one of my favorite stores, Marshalls. The bag, friends sign, & metal pitcher are Target finds as well. The green jacket is from Charlotte russe & the antique fruit bushel basket is a find with greenery from Michaels. 

Ok, you can probably tell that this table is making me really happy right now. I mean, one mans trash is another [wo]mans treasure right? I’ve had this table here for a couple of weeks now & who knows maybe it will move soon somewhere else, but for now it’s been a major upgrade to our small entryway to have a place to set our bags & other belongings when we enter the house.
