Remember when I went to LA a couple weeks ago? I went with Marshalls to shoot some videos for different commercial work & it was such a fun & cool learning experience. I learned what LA life was like, I learned all the work that went into one tiny 30 second commercial, I learned what life was like on set, I learned that it was tiring, & I learned that I love Marshalls even more than I ever knew. Marshalls [the people that work for Marhalls] care for their brand, they are so passionate about what Marshalls is all about & I can dig that. I love the deals I find at Marshalls & now I love them as a company even more. I have always been a Marshalls fan & will always be a Marshalls fan so sorry if you get sick of me talking about them, but I’m pretty sure if you have been here since day one on the blog you know that my love for them runs deep. Anyways, the week was amazing & shooting was really fun. I got to play around with home decor from Marshalls & decorate a brunch for my commercial. The fun part of the decor is that some [most] of the pieces are things that we already had in our home which was pretty awesome because it was just like decorating my house. Minus the amazing view of the Valley, but we can pretend that I have that view here at my casa can’t we?

I also learned that I am the most awkward person on the planet. Shooting a commercial with a lot of people surrounding and watching you is fun but terrifying at the same time. Like a roller coaster. I’m no movie star & I’m usually just behind the scenes decorating, but it was fun to try something new & get a glimpse of what an amazing company like Marshalls does to create things like this. I shared a post [here] already of some of the iPhone photos I took of my brunch & time in LA, but here is a little peek for those of you who didn’t get to see that post yet…

I do feel called to mention one small thing that I will elaborate on in a later post. You all know how upfront & honest I am. I mean, I share photos of my house with dirty mirrors with you, that means we are best friends right? Well, the week I was in LA I was 9 weeks pregnant. I was feeling so sick, I was super bloated all over from my face to my toes, I have never felt that tired in my life, & I was running on no sleep & no caffeine. I was so happy I was pregnant even though it was my 5th pregnancy so of course I was scared as well, but I was happy & I was wondering if this baby was the one. Sadly, the next week we found out we lost our 5th baby & had to say goodbye. When I got my Marshalls commercial back this past week I watched & I could see right away that I was pregnant. My face was bloated, my eyes were tired & the fact that they wanted a “no makeup” look for me really didn’t do my tired face any justice, & it made me a little sad to look at pregnant me since I have since lost the baby. I hated that I wasn’t “myself” & that I didn’t look like me. But, I couldn’t feel bad about how I looked in the video or how I felt like I could have done better because God wanted me to be pregnant in that moment & I don’t know the answer to that, but I trust him. I trust that every part of my journey has a purpose & I’m here to share it with you. I’m here to share that not every moment is perfect, but it can still be beautiful. I hesitated sharing this video with you guys because I wasn’t sure it was my best, but you know what, I’m proud of this & so thankful for Marshalls for this opportunity to have me. I also love Marshalls so much & they did such an amazing job on this video so of course I wanted to share the deals I got for my lovely brunch.
