I got a request on Instagram the other day to do a blog post on how to decorate around a TV. Great question! Well, in our house that we just moved into I haven’t really blogged our two entertaiment centers yet. One is in our bedroom which is an old antique buffet that you will see later in the post decorated in our North Carolina home, & the other is downstairs which is our DIY entertaiment center that you will also see in this post that we are actually getting ready to get rid of because we are going to build a custom piece for the spot. One more entertaiment center we had at our NC house is another one that Jose built for our historic home rental master bedroom that is also in this post. So along with how we have styled our entertainment centers in the past, I’m sharing how some other people have styled theirs & made them look cute. It’s hard to decorate around these big black boxes, but it’s possible to make your TV’s look good & even like pieces of art. Seriously I could keep going. There are so many ways to decorate around a TV, but I hope that this gives you some inspiration to start with. My favorites in this post were all the ones that had stacks of suitcases, don’t know why….but just loved them all! Hmm, maybe I need to go on a trip!?! And also, we hide our main tv in a huge armoire that is like a focal point in our “Great room”. Lovely ideas!! ~Kim

I love the “eclectic gallery wall surrounding the TV”. It’s my favourite of the bunch. I’m not sure why I’m drawn to it because I normally like very clean, simple, and uncluttered decor. It must be because of the neutral colours that are keeping it “calm”.
I love a gallery wall around a tv since your eye tends to see the pictures not the tv…great images and ideas!
Check out the guys at the Cavendar Diary, their style is different than yours, but they have neat ways of displaying collections around their TV.

Love this post!! I especially like the gallery walls around the tv. We recently put a wall mount tv in our master bedroom and I’m staring at it trying to come up with ideas. Thanks for so many of them.
Love these ideas! I was wondering what you would you do if tv is on a corner cabinet ….in the corer, with a short wall on the side–not sure what to do with it? a gallery? some reclaimed wood arrow s (three arrow points) on the side?
My favorite is the botanical prints cover. Or I could use one of the other arrangements using the botanical prints. Umm. Decisions. Decisions.

I just bought an old dresser off of craigslist, and I’ll be giving it a makeover as soon as the weather is consistently warm enough to paint in the garage.
