Oh, man… I’m putting this post up before Christmas because there is always a BIG question after opening up all the presents on Christmas day & after the Christmas tree comes down, how do I decorate my house for winter?! Of course, I will be showing you how I decorate our house for winter here soon, but before this big question was asked by some at the end of this week I wanted to show you how easy it really can be to decorate for Christmas & transition into winter decor. It’s really just a matter of subtracting a few things & a little rearranging to create some lovely winter tables. I rounded up a few of my favorite Winter Table Centerpieces that would be great for a dining room table, entryway tables, coffee tables, basically, if you have a table these would work great for it.
To me, winter decor is simple, rustic, & apparently full of pinecones due to all the photos that I picked for my favorites. I love to keep some greenery, wreaths, & a few other items for Christmas around along with some candles & other cozy items. I like to take away items that say Merry Christmas, ornaments, & a majority of the red & green combination. Now, of course, everyone’s style of decorating is different & this is just what I like, there are no exact rules to follow because if there were, wouldn’t life be so boring? Decorating after your Christmas decor comes down can be a little intimidating & maybe even leave you feeling a little stuck, but I hope this post left you feeling a little inspired to decorate those Winter Table Centerpieces of yours & maybe even the rest of your house too for the rest of this winter season. I think it’s great you are sharing all this info ahead of time. It’s always better to be prepared and these are some great ideas that I will have to add to our apartment.
I love putting out candles in the winter, not only for the cozy look but also for all the different scents smoking up once lit.
I have done the tea light candle in the mason jar before but I never thought of putting anything other then water in before, I will def be decorating with that now.

These are all such beautiful ideas, thanks for sharing some inspiration with us. I usually leave my Christmas tree up until after the new year but I think I’ll take down the rest of the Christmasy things and use some of the ideas you found for the rest of the house.

I have to say I have been a big fan of you blog for the last couple of years even though I don’t often comment….I am one of those silent readers:). I wasn’t sure if you were noticing, and maybe it is just me, but the advertisement in the new blog layout are super disruptive to reading your posts. The pop up one (always about Montana) arrives every 15-20 seconds and while I know advertisements are important I am not sure that was your intention. Just wanted to say something not to be critical but just in case you weren’t aware as this type of thing doesn’t seem like something you would be going for. Again if this is just something one my end then sorry to have bothered you with this lengthy comment.

I have been doing winter decorations for the last two years! Thanks for the inspiration! I think it helps ease out of the Christmas decor (although, I’d love to leave that up all year!).

Lovely ideas. But I’m just curious as to why, in the picture of the “Neutral simple winter coffee table”, why did you make the Roman blind about 4 cm narrower on either side than the architrave of the window? And about 20 cm above it? It looks completely out of proportion to me. Either you should have it the same size as the architrave, or inside the reveal of the window, in the particular case of this style of window. If it was a plain window with no architrave, you could have it about 5 – 10 cm wider on either side of the window, and about 20 cm above it, in order not to lose any light. Or of course, inside the reveal. Just curious!
