I feel so blessed to have some creative friends that I have met while living in NC the past 7 years. Some friends I have known for years & some I have met recently & wished I would have known longer. I met Heather from Heather Elizabeth Photography randomly on Instagram. That’s right. My love for Instagram has made me lots of new friends & she happened to be local to me. I wrote her one day saying that I loved her home & it was a lovely creative friendship from there.  Today I wanted to share one lovely part of her home that went through an awesome walk in closet makeover that I am a little jealous of.

Heather had a walk in closet that was anything but fabulous that she wanted to turn in to a wardrobe that had a boutique feel. Her photography clients often used this space for styling before photo shoots & other purposes so the makeover was necessary for creative inspiration.She had a lot of clothes & accessories so coming up with stylish origination was a must.

The clothes racks are made from galvanized pipe mounted to the wall from Mitchell’s Hardware for an clean, minimalistic, industrial look. The clothes racks created levels on the right side of the wardrobe to add interest. The hat hooks were made with large carriage bolts for cohesion with the industrial clothes racks and allow for being easily hid under hats to give an effortless look when hung.

The window seat was built by Heather’s husband. It’s hard to get the scale of it in images, but it’s about the size of a twin size bed! We made it nice & deep for lounging. He attached it straight to the walls for a floating affect and for ample space underneath for storage. He topped the board attached to the wall with a 4 inch, custom cut foam cushion. & after adding sheets, blankets & pillows it’s a great spot for working, lounging, & getting a breeze from the beautiful window!

The extra clothes rack on this side of the room is great for putting outfits together & styling for photo shoots. The gallery wall showcases Heather’s work in frames that were painted all in white for seamless uncluttered design. They also crafted a DIY sign that was inspired from their trip to Paris that adds the perfect antique touch to the small space.

I’m in love! & who wouldn’t want a wardrobe like this? & how lucky are her photography clients? I’m loving the pops of color in the small space & how she made so much of the small size of the room & the length as well with the layout.
