Many of you remember our new, super old, card catalog that is now in our rental. Well, I needed some art for above the card catalog & I had to get creative since we live in a rental I couldn’t make any new holes in the wall.  After scouring the internet for some lovely prints I stumbled onto the New York Public Library gallery section on their website website & found some lovely botanical prints to get crafty with!

To make the vintage inspired botanical science prints you need some pieces of wood, rope, staple gun, screws, & some prints of your choice. I printed my botanical prints off at Staples to be about 12×20. We used scrap pieces of wood we had lying around, you can use any kind of wood you have. We cut the pieces of wood into 12 pieces about a foot long {one for each side of the print on the top & the bottom for all three}. We then placed the print in between the boards on the top & bottom & screwed the two boards together after staining them & allowing them to dry. After all the boards were screwed together I stapled some lovely burlap rope that I had lying around to the back of the top boards. For hooks I used 3M hooks that I painted copper so that I would not have to put any holes in the walls.

Which by the way we haven’t even started working on yet, but hey, at least it’s pretty just the way it is, damage & all.
