This is the first room I will be showing you upstairs in our new home. We re not close to being done with the downstairs tour, but those rooms need some tweaking before I show you those rooms. So, I am going to show you our upstairs guest bathroom a week after we have moved in. We have literally not used this room one time. I hung two shower curtains, placed a plant stand in the room with the guest towels & that is about it. I am wanting to add some window treatments & some decor to the space to spice things up, & I’m sure this will all be changing, but my parents will be visiting next week & this will be there bathroom so for now it’s simple, sweet, & functional.
This is a view of the room from the upstairs hallway. The floors need lots of work, but since it’s a rental we will not be tackling that project. To be honest I don’t really mind, it gives it character & I think you look at a house differently when you are renting. The things like that don’t stress you out, but instead you can sit and find beauty in it all.
The tub is everything in this guest bathroom of course. It’s the main focal point of the room & rightly so! Like I said above we haven’t used this beautiful tub yet, but I’ve always envisioned myself showering in one of these, & I think it was meant to be mine. I’m getting emotional about a tub, but if you know me that makes a lot of sense.
The green plant stand is one that I have had lying around forever & I’ve tried to sell many times, but for some reason it always sticks around. Of course like I said this bathroom got some temporary things for the time being and things will be changing, but this plant stand has a mind of it’s own & who knows it could be staying for the long haul! & the rugs? I’m thinking one long rug. What do you think?

I love this room. it is just beautiful. I think I would go with a long rug too, but it”s what you like and how it makes you feel. I go by that, because after all, isn’t that what we all want? The room is so crisp looking, and it says carefree to me.
It’s a beautiful room, and the green plant stand is perfect there. I would like to see a persian style runner on against the patina of the wood floor; one that’s faded, travel-worn, and even thread bare in places OR try 2 small, (faux) white sheepskin rugs (Ikea)
