Remember these DIY floating bathroom shelves that we made this past summer & just got around to blogging a few weeks ago? Well, there are another set of shelves we made a while back that we never blogged either. The master bathroom is so very close to being done & these shelves are one step closer to being finished. Before we built these shelves by the vanity, the countertop would always have some sort of clutter on it. The solution was to build some shelves on the small wall on the side of the vanity to store toiletries, jewelry, & towels.

The stain I used on the shelves is Minwax special walnut, surprise surprise! The baskets were purchased from Lowes when we picked up the metal brackets & wood as well. In one basket I keep vitamins, essential oils, & medications. In the other basket I keep face products that I use daily.

& all of those containers? The clear glass container is filled with assorted samples. From Shampoo, lotion, chapstick, & more. I am a loyal subscriber to Birchbox & Beauty Box 5 which send samples monthly, so this method of storage is perfect for me! one of the white owl containers holds cotton balls & the other owl container holds oatmeal, which I use on my skin daily, you can read more on that {here}. The smaller bird container holds jewelry that I take off while I’m washing my face at night.

The before & after from this project was shocking because I honestly didn’t think it would make that big of an impact. I am so happy with the results & how much storage these shelves offer. & our vanity counter tops are finally clutter free! What do you think of our DIY rustic wood & metal bathroom shelves?
